Is anyone else concerned these will be overpriced? £17.99 or $19.99 seems too much to me.

No. Super Mario Galaxy 2 is $39.99 in stores, and you can get it here for just $9.99 or $19.99. These are bargin prices.

Anyone else wondering if they'll put the New Play Control games up for sale? I mean, since Gamecube games seems pretty unlikely at this point, this is pretty much the next best thing.

There is nothing here...except for the stuff I just typed...

It is a select in Europe so about the same price regardless here. (Other than the discounted price).

I would be more interested if they were updated to 1080p rendering and lossless 5.1 surround sound.

I am very interested in the answer to this question because although I have the disks at least for the first three - Metroid is going to be massive and I don't want to have to use the internal on that. (Was going to get at least the three first ones).

I'm not, got a toshiba 500GB drive w/Y-cable and Galaxy 2 runs beautifully on it~
edit: Metroid Prime Trilogy is 7.9GB if I remember correctly.

I really want Metroid Prime Trilogy, but I have no clue how I'll make space for that and all of the other games coming soon... I don't have an external hard drive that I can use for the Wii U, so that's out of the question at the moment.

I'm pumped about Punch-Out getting released digitally because I still haven't found a physical copy for a fair price locally. Trying to avoid the Nintendo Selects version doesn't help me any, but I'm just too picky about what goes into my collection.

I am really tempted to pick up Mario Galaxy 2 for that price. Just out of curiosity will it hurt the story if you haven't played the first one?

Mario games have a story?

No, it won't.

Games not announced I'd like to see:

SMG1
LoZ: TP
LoZ: SS
Wario Ware: Smooth Moves
Super Paper Mario

Then I'll be a very happy devil.

Wario Ware I didn't get and having enjoyed the Game & Wario I'd definitely get that. I think the price is fair - especially if they make that week one sale price a rule - again this is like free money for them so I think that might be an idea to try for all their VC content just to big up sales.

You can still pick up a copy of Sin & Punishment for about €5-10 if you're interested and don't care about physical/digital. Might be a better deal than the €20 once the digital version is released.

I'm hoping Capcom comes on board with this too and since FIFA is still being released on the Wii that may plug a huge hole.

That concerns me. I have an old Maxtor powered USB drive that I put a 500 GB drive into and it completely locks up. I will give it a try again tonight, but I really do not want to replace an otherwise perfect drive because of some HDD compatibility mess.

It runs completely fine on my hard-drive which is one of the handful of models that Nintendo specifies is fully compatible with the Wii U! I have another question though, how do I launch the digitally scanned instruction manual for these Wii U (Wii VC) titles?

I don't know about Capcom they are kinda of goofy right now. I mean Resident Evil Revelations 2 is not coming to any Nintendo system even though the series started on the 3DS. And then Street Fighter 5 is only PS4. Still it seems that whoever throws money their way Capcom will release a game for them, so I guess if Nintendo were to throw some money at them for say Tatsunoko vs. Capcom then I can see it happening.

I macgyvered mine. HDD dock. Spare 250 GB 7200RPM western Digital HDD check. power on dock and formatted drive. voila external drive. Though the first time the game booted up it forced a restart of my entire system before working without a hitch.

So after giving it some thought I must ask, what games are you hoping Nintendo puts on the eshop from the Wii catalog ?

For me personally I hope the following come out:

Games I never owned and or are in some cases too expensive right now for someone who prefers their discs new

  • Xenoblade Chronicles
  • Fire Emblem
  • The Last Story not expensive but I'd like to see it on the eshop
  • The Conduit 1 & 2
  • No More Heroes 1 & 2
  • Red Steel 2
  • Pandora's Tower
Wii Sports Resort wish they redid this instead of the original Wii sports

Games I sold due to my first 2 years of college
-Super Paper Mario
-Mario Strikers Charged

  • Resident Evil Archives: Zero and the Remake
  • Pikmin 1 and 2 NPC versions
  • Driver: Parallel Lines and San Francisco aka, Pre Francisco since its nothing like the 360,ps3, pc versions but was still a good game imo
  • Red Steel

Games I own that I'd like to see on the eshop anyway, note these are games that weren't announced in the direct
Twilight Princess & Skyward Sword
Resident Evil 4
Super Mario Galaxy

Games that I own part 2, which really don't need to be on there due to their successors on wii u but still some may want to own them despite that for digital collections sake
MKWii & Brawl

Theres my list what do you want to see on the eshop?? Besides the obvious GameCube and N64 games I know I want them too but I'm keeping it Wii here except for this one sentence xD

Definitely picking up Metroid Prime Trilogy when it hits, though I will likely have to delete Ninja Gaiden 3 Razor's Edge to make room for it (deleting the software doesn't force you to delete the save data, right?) until I can get my hands on a hard drive. Would love to get Punch-Out and Sin & Punishment Star Successor as well.
