aha!! So the professional review is biased and unreliable. User reviews are fabricated. There's an elaborate national conspiracy in Japan to make this game sound better than it is!!

Famitsu and user reviews in a language I can hardly read let alone get a good idea of how fabricated or thought through it is just aren't very reliable sources(it's not like western Amazon user reviews are always reliable). I haven't heard about any of other professional reviews in Japan of this game, there have to be more than the most well known one. I'd love to hear this game is awesome, but I never go for just one or two sources.

I don't know if something is bugging Nintendo or it's just people reading too much into it.
Nintendo has launched a mini-website for the game in Europe, it's offering free wallpapers and t-shirts bundled with the physical copy. "Hiding" it from the press seems like a childish way to hide it from the audience, since everybody by now knows the game is out soon - especially the press, who can't wait to destroy it.
Furthermore, the press release only mentions Q.U.B.E. and Senran Kagura 2, while there are also three more games released this week (four including D3rd.).

I have no idea of how we went from simply a bad game like many to some kind of Watergate scandal.
The game might turn out even worse than everybody expects, but I've never seen the audience/press being so negative and ready to tear a game a new one. I would love to buy the game day-1 just to form an opinion totally of my own without being influenced by what I'll eventually read, but A) I don't like to pay full price for a game that I know I can get for one third of its price in three months and B) I have to buy a new car tyre.

@spizzamarozzi: Seems to be the media is ready to pounce. Wider gaming media does that to the Wii U regardless but this almost every sit seemingly having the review ready before the game is out. Bit like a Sonic game, actually.

Poor Wii U. This will shine poorly on the thing as it slides out. Cue the articles.

Good thing we have Runbow coming out.

Just hit me. Maybe one review will have the tenacity to say the best part of the game is being Wii U exclusive so no one will play it anyway. :/

@Cyber-BLP--: Best part of the game is the online multiplayer though, which isn't even Wii U exclusive and free on PC.

I wonder if Itagaki will respond to all the reviewers who demolished his game. hahahaha that would be epic. I'm imagining a Derek Smart flmae war scenario. hahahaha

Though it's nice to hear the online is well, decent enough, what little hype there was before the debacle has pretty much dissipated. What a shame.

there was no way this game was going to get "unbiased" ratings. First, the "development limbo" which the press adores to mention - doesn't matter how good a game is, if it's been in development limbo, it has already 20 points detracted from the final score, because reviewers love to blame most of the flaws they find on the troubled development cycle.
Second, Itagaki questioning the press!? That's already a minus 60 points in the review - because the press can't be questioned. They hate their professionalism being questioned. Most of them don't want you to find out that most of their pieces were written after 5 hours of game played at the easiest difficulty level. Just see the reaction most "critics" had when Itagaki said they were playing the game badly.

So, a few days in, anyone bought this at launch? How do you like or not like it?

This game is the Wii U's Fantastic Four.

I'm still going to get it. Amazon Japan has good reviews and I'm seeing Nintendo life users that played it give it good marks as well. Is it going to be AMAZING?! well no, but it will be fun and that's all I need.
