I wasn't angry about it, but I am concerned about how much those controllers are going to cost.

I'm initially disappointed. I'll wait to try the system before I pass any real judgement, though

I'm not angry, but I'm not sold either. It's still early, but the controller looks uncomfortable, awkward, and heavy. The games were just demoes and ports...It won't be out soon, so they have plenty of time to convince me, but for an E3 showing, that was majorly disappointing. Nothing like the 3DS presentation.

This is why im looking foward too it. Look at those graphics. My only complaint is that the battle game should have been a straight third person shooter instead of having one player being a hard to control ship.

The 7 year olds who got the Wii in 2006, are now 12. Those 12 year olds will be 13 when the Wii U comes out. Does nintendo really think 13 year olds want this system? Seriously, Nintendo, you have so much potential. I know you want to make something that appeals to everyone, but thats when you start to fail. Too much tech! DS, Wii, 3DS, Wiimotes, nunchucks, gun-wii-controllers, wii balance boards, wii steering wheel, Wiiu, Wiiu controller. All of these things are TOO MUCH.

I am 13 years old, thank you very and I will be 14 when the Wii U comes out. This console is * SUPPOSED* to appeal to everyone if some 13 or 14 choose not get thats OK with me. BUT I am going to get this system so don't go around saying 13 or 14 years don't want this cause I sure do! Also I can't understand why everyone is so hesitant with this system, then again weren't people hesitant with the Wii as well? Who knows maybe all you doubters will be quite with there Wii U by the end of this Gen.

Yeah I am not liking the look of the controller at all the system I dont mind but the fact that it looks like an Ipad just turns me off to it. Personally I think they should have just made a cable for the 3DS so that you can use the 3DS as a controller on the Wii U like what they did with the GBA and Gamecube and just had some simple controller something like the Wiimote for the Wii U itself. So far from what I see the controller is going to make the Wii U waaaay more expansive than it should be.

The 3DS doesnt have enough buttons or the proccessing power to stream a game likely.

Also seems the rumours of it merely being onpar with the Xbox 360 were true, which is unfortunate, as it's likely Microsoft and Sony will reveal new systems next year that are even more powerful, leaving the Wii out of the third party ports again.

I read that Sony and Microsoft won't be releasing their new consoles until 2014 or 2015.

I think he's implying that the 13 year olds will be busy screaming profanity at each other over Xbox Live.

But seriously, you can't expect Nintendo (or any company, for that matter) to drop all motion control support just because some people have a hard time with it. I really doubt that 7 year olds made up a huge percentage of Wii owners at launch, anyway. I bought it because the GameCube was on its way out, and I wanted to play Twilight Princess.

What I'm wondering is why this thread is still active. JumpMad won on the first page.

You are correct on this. It looks like Nintendo will be stepping up to current generation hardware with Wii U, and should get a few years of it before the other two double what they have now.

Someone mentioned about the power of the system. When they were asked after the presentation if the Wii U could handle Battlefield 3, the question was completely avoided. Yes, this could be a quick diversion to keep from leaking information, but the fact that the either it, or Modern Warfare 3 weren't announced for Wii U as equal titles to PS3/360 during the conference makes me think that the system isn't on par with what these two consoles are starting to currently produce. That is just speculation though, but with Nintendo's power and them seeming very serious about regaining their hardcore audience, they didn't show anything to really back that statement up.

I don't get angry at video games really.
Though it is kinda disappointing since I think the Vita and 3DS is looking much better than it at the moment. Its still too early to judge it though.

I thought they said battlefield could as long as it was optimized and not a cheap port.

also ign just confirmed that its using battery pack so no battery swaping

Nintendo's problem is that they focus too hard on hardware innovation and have un-innovative games. Take the Gamecube for example. It had great innovative games like Pikmen and Luigi's Mansion. The Wii on the other hand didn't have nearly as many original games.

The DS had great innovation, though. Phantom Hourglass was a good showcase of what the DS can do.

I agree with this to the point that the Wii was ment to attract a broader audience. So the innovations might not be what ya look for in games.

IGN has a great feature and video about the controller and how it feels to play it. Also they have footage of the zedla HD running on a TV as well as the controller.
