I tried to get the original Japanese cart, since I wanted to play it on the Retron 5, where I can simply put the translation patch on the SD Card and play it in english that way.
However, they were too expensive and hardly anyone was selling them, so I guess I got a repro cart...
The Retron 5 can soft-apply patches? I might have to look into getting one.
Are you saying a genuine SD3 (Japanese) cart is as expensive as a repro?
You crazy, man!
(original is like $20 loose on ebay)
I was talking about Mother 3. Seiken Densetsu 3 (which is not a repro as far as I can tell) only cost me $18. But Mother 3's Japanese Carts go for $75-$100, and I could only find 3 active offers, while the repros regularly go for under $40 and had plenty of offers available.

They shouldn't cost that much loose. Loose go for about $45-70. I just guess I got mine at the right time. CIB for $60 on eBay. The box has a bit of wear from opening/closing, but it's not too bad.
...And I just saw this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Excellent-Game-Boy-Micro-Mother-3-Lim...
Bought U.N. Squadron for the Super Nintendo on eBay, and BlaZeon for the Super Nintendo from a retro store in the Mall. Also got a Super Nintendo controller (well, the Cirka brand reproduction SNES pad) at that shop.
Bay the bayside, Klonoa: Door to Phantom Ville, Tomba! and Castlevania: Chronicles seem to be going for quite the penny on eBay. All which roughly go for about $80-$100. eek!
Castlevania: Chronicles too? I remember picking that up relatively cheap. Although that's now probably more than 5 years ago. I've never seen Klonoa or Tomba!(did play the demo's), but C:C wasn't that rare.
It wasn't rare, but it has been expensive to get for some time. I saw it at a shop for over $80 and I just laughed, since it was one of the first PSOne Classics I bought on the PSP ages ago...and quite frankly it's one of the worst classic-style Castlevania game I've played, above only Castlevania: The Adventure...
I forgot that's one of the games I still needed for my GB RPG collection.
The SGB version has a blue label, it looks like.
Ordered. Over $30 CIB though.
(luckily I had gotten Masakari Densetsu Kintarou RPG Hen. I hear that's one of the harder to get JP GB RPGs. Didn't realize there's a more common Action game of nearly the same title until after I had unintentionally bought said action game. I thought the seller had sent me the wrong game until I double-checked. )
Just got in Pokemon Silver. Gotta change the battery, which is annoying, but I am hyped about the game.

As @ogo79 said, the SNS-RZ-USA is a prime giveaway that it's not a legit retail cart.
And yes, he is (usually) always right, and he is (almost) the sexiest gamer out there (not counting me) ;)
ok this is a wii title but it automatically becomes classic and retro when i get it because thats just the way this is gonna work out... its an old enough game by now to get my interest. i got a sealed copy of muramasa and this guide:

Terranigma (SNES) - apparently the repro does work on the SNES, which is good, since I have no choice if I want to play this amazing games.
Lufia & The Fortress of Doom (SNES) - payed a tiny bit higher than I was hoping to...or, well, over $20 more, but thems the breaks. I hope it's good, since I won't be getting the second game any time soon...
Oriental Blue (GBA) - A blind buy I got really cheap. It supposedly has a fan-translation patch online, so I'll be fine in that regard.
Lagrange Point (Famicom) - I'll still finish it on my emulator, but at least I got it for run #2.
Bahamut Lagoon (Super Famicom) - Another good game that I got for a little over $10.
I like Lufia, but the writing (for 16-bit) and some of the music is it's strong point (and it's a bit of a long game without IMO being TOO long). The actual gameplay is kind of average, I'll admit. A shame if 2 is too expensive these days as it did some stuff to make the gameplay a lot more interesting (might be kind of standard now but back then was pretty cool).
Wasn't me, I've had SoulBlazer since the '90s.
I remember a few years after getting the cart, finding a manual at GameStop without the cover in a huge pile of SNES manuals. If I had known they were likely to be tossed soon after, I'd have tried to grab more.
Managed to grab a (Disc-only) copy of Panzer Dragoon for the Sega Saturn at a retro store today. It was on sale, too. Been wanting to get into this one for a long while, so I'm happy.
Also got Ty the Tasmania Tiger for the Gamecube and Pac World 2 for the PS2. That'll be it for my retro purchases until mid-June...

Erm....
Shatterhand (NES) Super Ninja Boy (SNES) Illusion of Gaia (SNES) Operation C (GB)
Also gonna see if I can pick up Metal Gear Solid (GBC) if I can get myself up early enough in the morning. After that, I'm more or less done for a good long time...hopefully. @_@
