For Amiga 500 fans, I have just seen that Super Cars 2 is confirmed for the A500 Mini. The games line up is looking good. Still hoping Lemmings and Cannon Fodder will make the cut
I loved my A500 in the day…..best gaming computer period!
The PSVR is the best VR system on the market today.
There’s an old DOS text adventure game (slash music career simulator) called Rockstar from 1989. You play a rockstar with a pushy manager, and you get to tour, release albums/singles, and take drugs. Resistance is often futile, and you could end up offing yourself and/or going bonkers and developing severe drug dependency.
I hated the drug-taking aspect of the game, which is very hard to completely avoid, but I loved the novelty of naming my own singles, and the charts are updated every in-game week, which allows you to gauge your performance. You could also be received differently depending on how well you cater to each market (I believe the USA, UK, Europe, and Asia were the four key markets). I also recall the humour being quite British with copious uses of slang and obscured profanities.
A brilliant concept for a game that was very well executed. Shockingly, I am yet to find a similar game by a modern developer.
