I planned to get an Japanese Super Famicom, because of Japan only imports and I want to try the SNES classic in Japanese XD. (I know I could've get the American SNES, but I honestly don't like the American SNES color scheme.) But I wanted to know If the Japanese Power cable and the AV cable are the same as the American SNES. I know both of them are NTSC.
The AV cable from Super Famicom is the same as an American SNES, meaning that you could use it for both of these systems, along with GameCube and N64.
I don't know much about which AC adapter works the best for your Super Famicom, but if the DC specs are the same for the American SNES, you could use the SNES AC adapter. The SFC AC adapter has a voltage of 110v, while the SNES one is 120v.
I don't have a Super Famicom but I'm going to 90% say you can't use an SNES AC (I did the other thing I don't know if I can say to make my games playable). From my understanding the Famicom used the same AC adapter as the SFC, and I do have an official AV Famicom and can confirm my SNES AC does not fit. So by that logic the SNES AC probably won't work in SFC.
If you're not dead set on getting an actual SuperFami, you can just get a clone system (i highly recommend the Retron3), as many of them will play both SNES and SuperFami games.
Whichever you get do the SuperCIC switchless mod. Then you can play anything. (Advantage of JPN/USA SNES is you can use the cheap Gamecube PAL RGB cables without having the colours washed out). Doing the same mod on a PAL SNES you need the PAL cable which is different and more expensive.
All you need to do is use the reset switch to change region.
Guess with an American TV you need something to convert RGB to Component as well don't know what the best choices are for that other than XRGB if you are using a modern LCD TV.
