OT: Burnout 3. It will be one of the greatest games you will ever play. Ever.

Indeed. Burnout 3 is still ridiculously intense--I like it much better than Paradise, to be honest.

I'm baffled as to why this franchise seems to have fallen by the wayside. I'd have thought that a blisteringy fast, slightly cartoony arcade racer with ridiculously over the top crashes would be perfect for not just the HD consoles but a Wii wheel game as well.

Final Fantasy X is a great game.

Final Fantasy X-2 is pretty good for a more traditional (yet mission based) RPG.

Persona 4 may appeal if you like anime and demon slaying.

Kingdom Hearts is one almost everyone likes and Okami is supposed to be a great game too.

Personally...I like Chaos Legion.

Main Final Fantasy & Quest/Shinobi Team fan...but I do like many SEGA games and a few Nintendo games.

I can be cute if I want to be, but I choose not to...as it's not my style.

Shadow of the Colossus is definitely a great one...

I'd also say Way of the Samurai 2, but that game isn't for everyone.

I second all of those recommendations except for the hack 'n' slasher. I especially recommend Final Fantasy X-2, Kingdom Hearts, and Okami.

Which version PS2 is better (Fat or Slim)? And is it ok to buy used or better to get a new one?

I would say slim and new, I'm not really a fan of buying used I will on games but not on systems.

Does anyone know if the Dark Cloud series is any good? I'd buy it but (for once) the cover puts me off it as I think it'd be an RPG aimed at the younger gamers.

The Slim is better because it has better compatibility, but you can't use the External hard-drive...which is only useful if you intend to pirate your PS2 games anyways(only 2 games actually support the damn thing so now that's all it's good for). And it's always better to buy new when you can.
