Topic: Parents upset over new Nintendo console - a con to make you spend more money

I stay away from phones. I only use a very cheap model (£10) to make calls.

Sure, I would enjoy all the other features that the expensive phones provide but I don't want to go down that path. Its much cheaper being ignorant sometimes than being informed.

True story

I am not a bit surprised over this. I remembered the early days of Super Nintendo. I recalled my local Newspaper even made a big deal out the Super Nintendo not being backwards compatible to play Nes games.

It's ironic that they focused that story on a Nintendo game when Nintendo goes to such measures to make sure those things don't happen. Why not go and report on some PC MMO? I mean, it can sometimes be ridiculous how secure Nintendo makes Wii online games. Look at Mario Kart Wii (and 7): before an online race, you can talk to fellow racers, but you can only select pre-written words such as "go easy on me!" or "good luck!". It can get painfull sometimes.

I know, right! The media has always been so nieve and never properly researches stuff. It ANNOYS me!
Just look at a report from The Sun, a British newspaper, who gave a report recently on "10 reasons not to buy Wii U".

Can you recall any of those reasons? I'd love to get a laugh out of it.

Nvm, I found 5 reasons....

1) It'll be outdated within a year
2) Vita masquerading as the GamePad
3) The threat to all consoles - mobile gaming
4) DS + Wii = fail?
5) It's dramatically over-priced

Okay I can't watch the video but from what I read in the thread post. No wonder Nintendo is so sensitive, yikes! I know for a fact 90s parents were weird and had a few bolts missing, LOL.

I absolutely hate it when parents are naive and think that you can continue to play the new games on older systems. Back when I had a gameboy, my parents didn't get me a new handheld until DS Lite, because they were always like you don't need a new one because you have this "Gameboy"
I also hate it when it is the other way around, where in this case the new Wii Mini is coming out, older people think it is a new system and they get it for there children/grandchildren only to find the child very disappointed LOL!
