I thought that game was ok.

Only a bit too hard. Mostly because of the fps controls.

If I had to choose between the original and Other M, I'd choose Fusion Other M.

Not really...? I don't have anything on my shelves that I know I won't play...but having said that...

I do buy to try...

I did import Bomberman Kart DX thinking I'd enjoy it as much or more than the original Bomberman Kart, but they'd taken out the physics and made it just another kart game. :0/

Also, I imported ChoroQ Works (and still have it) even though I knew I wouldn't be able to play it (because it's in Japanese)...but I got a sense of the way the cars handled from the over-world and they handle like it's a totally different game (but that's just how the ChoroQ series is from game to game). For me ChoroQ HG 3 & 4 is where it's at with the ChoroQ series. I imported a copy of ChoroQ Arcade Edition for the Gamecube (There was a U.K. release but it's a super-rare collector's item at this point), but...they'd taken out the manual gearboxes (in favour of exponential tightening of the steering when cornering) and added car combat, so I played it for a while but (at least for me) it wasn't a keeper. :0/

...I even played Combat ChoroQ, but drew the line at ChoroQ Marine: Q-Boat. Also, I can't promise I wouldn't think seriously about picking up a Choro Q Byun Byun Racer should the opportunity present itself (although the lack of a gear-stick on the controller is a bit of a deterrent).

Also, I've played almost all the ATV and/or MX game available for home console (but admittedly excluding MX World Tour Featuring Jamie Little, since it was a budget title that reviewed poorly and which I would have had to have imported (although I do like how the race position markers on the map are in girly pastels)) basically looking for more and better Excitebike 64...same with Snowboarding games since 1080. The only place I've not been able to find as good or better is with Jet-ski racing. I've still not found anything that improves on Wave Race Blue Storm.

I played through Link's Awakening, Link to the Past, Oracle of Seasons/Ages, Minish Cap and Occarina (without really enjoying them), just to get a sense of the Zelda formula and to help me to try and understand and appreciate the series...I can only really say I like the new direction it's taking; although I thought Link Between World's was fantastic (and apart from the touch-screen zelda's it's the only top-down Zelda I've kept) and needless to say I'd like to see more in that vein...namely-- modern reworkings of the Capcom Zelda's...surely it's got to happen...right? ...just without the Minish and the third part integrated into it and everything condensed into one game, and with a better in-game hint-system (or actual in-game walkthrough narrated by some kind of Minish Cap), so that it's content rich, without endless backtracking, and futile circling. The only problem is, no one street-passes in the U.K. any more, so the game balance would be totally off (if you're street-passing kinstones / seeds / rings etc. Like the Streetpass games...I enjoy them but they're not worth owning because no one carries their 3DS any more) it'd be like buying Pokemon Ruby or the Hourglass ship parts...no one to trade with = monumental grind-fest to the point of rote, mind-numbing repetition = count me out.)

Similar with many many RPG's. I'm just not into pure RPG...I've played a ton to try to develop an interest in them but the repetition and grinding is just way too much. I've got some hybrid stuff like Rune Factory, Steambot Chronicles and Dark Star One (all of which I'm yet to spend serious time with) but apart from that the only RPG's I really do enjoy are the Mario & Luigi series. I prefer Tactical RPG's but again, there just seems to be too much repetition.

I once collected together a full four-swords setup including gameboy players and gamecube monitors, the Kirby's, Pac-Man V.s...but I didn't have anyone to play it with (I know...really sad...but totally true)...so I kept it for a while but ended up selling it all back to eBay. :0/

I pre-ordered a ton of Bioshock and Mafia II stuff just due to having got an early seat on the hype train...something I'd never do again...the Mafia III collector's edition looks pretty cool but it'll just look like junk to me once I've finished the game. :0/

I do at times buy duplicates because I try and buy games that are almost like new, but open, because if I end up with a game in cellophane I can't cross it off my want list because I know I'm not going to want to open it. :0/

Apart from that I have import games that I'm unable to play because they don't run on PAL consoles (Culdcept Saga, Otomedius and the Indianapolis games for Wii & 360 (two consoles I only have in straight PAL format), but no, I can't say I've ever knowingly bought a bad game just to keep for the sake of owning it.

I guess I should look at emulation rather than buying and selling this stuff in order to try it all, but I think there's just something about "putting your money where your mouth is" when you look at this stuff that really does help the decision making process (although I'm getting to the point where my time is becoming a premium, so...)

Thing I recall about Other M is that despite the bad reviews and resulting cheap prices on amazon (like $10), Target in the US was still asking full price for the game in 2015.

It's because the game was removed from their system, so it defaulted to full price. I asked once, because they had Muramasa for $40, and that's what they told me. (That was Walmart, but I'm pretty sure that's the store you were thinking of)

I've done this many times. Just bought RE5 and RE6 to complete the RE collection on PS4 alongside RE: Revelations 2, RE0, RE1 and RE4. Like Crimson I bought Amiibo Festival for the amiibo, I bought Sega 3D Classics Collection despite owning them all individually for the 1 bonus game. I buy both Pokemon's every single time, both Yokai Watch games releasing, I got the first Theatrhythm just cause I owned the 2nd despite the 2nd being everything the first was and more. Any game that releases on both Wii U/3DS I buy both, and sometimes even for PS4/Vita (not always, like Odin Sphere and Grand Kingdom I went Vita only but anything Final Fantasy, like FFX or World of FF is gonna be dual purchase).

I'm absolutely horrible for doing this kinda stuff. I bought the new MH Generations XL because I own the MH4U XL and couldn't display just the 1 knowing another exists. I may need intervention.

Other M, I heard about how bad the game was but I wanted the entire canon Metroid collection so I bought it for like £3 in TRU brand new. Still haven't played it at all but then I remembered recently that I don't own Metroid II in any form so I'm buying that off the 3DS eshop now.

You should play it and form an opinion for yourself- there's just as many if not more people (including myself) that think the game is one of the best in the Wii catalog. I'd pay full price for that game and it would be worth every penny to me. Less that $5... it's almost criminal how good a deal you got! Seriously, play the game!

@JaxonH - Well, the first step to solving a problem is admitting you have one. Good luck with steps 2 through 96...God speed...

Also, until the Brexit, I'm pretty sure £3 was at least the quivelant of $5, if not more. But I dunno, do they have £5 bins like the $5 bins they got in Best Buys in America?

...do other parts of America still have $5 media bins at electronic stores? I'm starting to wonder if that's no longer universal. I've been to Massachusetts*, I've seen price of coffee over there. You really expect me to believe someone would charge less than that for a copy of "Carnival Games" or "Transmorphers: Fall of Man"? Coffee's mostly just water with coffee grounds and a little sugar in it (and maybe some half 'n' half if you're a WIMP), and they got a whole OCEAN just down the street (give or take about 100 miles). I don't think so, man. I'm not convinced.

*Yay, I spelled that right on the first try!

Pretty sure there's still bargain bins, but I haven't checked one in years. Usually toss all the clearance DVD's and games in it for prices varying from a couple bucks to $15, depending on item.

I do all my shopping online now but I can't imagine they got rid of the clearance bins.

Not completely sure what the rest of your post was on about though... Coffee, wimps and not buying it? Idk.

Well, I meant specifically "$5 or less" bins, I always see those at FYE and Best Buy, and of course Gamestop...they never have anything good in them, but it's the principle of the matter...

Also, I apparently went to Boston at a really crappy time, it's actually cheaper to buy coffee over there now then than it is in New York. I guess I was right about the water. I was trying to talk about inflation, but I guess that would require leaving my apartment for more than 20 minutes at a time...I ain't doing that, nosiree...

Well even the "Dollar Store" you see here now charges $5 for everything. Should change the name to Family Five Dollar. Surprising though, I'm pretty sure there's still games for super cheap. Usually at GS its all PS3/360/Wii games that aren't selling (be it from lack of popularity or over production). Same for Walmart. I think BestBuy got rid of them though. Last few times I was there I didn't see anything of the sort. They seem to be stocking minimal games in store and even online too, you see games sell out in a month and never get restocked. Like Valkyria Chronicles Remastered (PS4)? 2 weeks of online stock and then gone forever.

@ogo79 Why do you have 78 copies of Big Riggs? So you can drive backwards at 78 infinitillion miles per hour and destroy the universe?

...dont you even think about taking my plan and doing it for yerself...its patented...dont make me get my lawyer @the_shpydar
if there is anyone on this earth who is a greedy enough person to destroy the universe its got to be me.
it takes a real piece of crap to pull that off and i dont need anyone trying to boost up their crappiness, i worked hard for this.

^Yeah, I'm kinda surprised he's not here yet. You'd think he'd love the excuse to show off the progress he's made on his E.T. fortress. Unless that would mean admitting E.T. for the Atari is a terrible game...

That's just it, buying piles of ET doesn't apply to this thread's topic!

You know i got your back. And since the destruction of the universe by Big (EFFING!) Rigs must be accomplished in the same way as nuclear missile launches — two people simultaneously turning their keys — let me know when you want to initiate destruction and i'll fire up my copy as well.

I was fortunate enough to live in New Hampshire for a short while and I lived in a house with a couple of guys who were really into sports. They were very kind and spent and great deal of time trying to explain the rules of their favourite american sports. We had their PS3 in the house so the day before leaving I went to GameStop and bought a copy of PES 20-something to leave in the house as a present.
Now PES on PS3 is a bad game, but it was the only soccer game I could find!!

More on topic, years ago I have bought Phantasy Star Version 2 for Dreamcast for €18,50 even though it's basically useless in this day and age. Just because I had the first one.

Not really with videogames but with music, I have bought many CDs I knew were crap just because I wanted to own the complete discography of this or that artist I like.

Top-10 games I played in 2017: The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild (WiiU) - Rogue Legacy (PS3) - Fallout 3 (PS3) - Red Dead Redemption (PS3) - Guns of Boom (MP) - Sky Force Reloaded (MP) - ...
