I recently tried to set up my old GameCube on my new TV using an HDMI converter. It works ok but the image is too bright. I read on here that it might work better with a scart cable so I tried that but the image doesn't display at all, although the sound does work.
Any ideas? I'm in the UK so I guess it must be PAL?
Is your Gamecube PAL? Are you using "PAL" AV cables. They have some extra resistors in them that "NTSC" ones don't. If you bought them online recently they might be the wrong ones. If they original though, I would start to investigate the HDMI converter. Is it one of the ones intended for "retro" consoles? or is it a generic one. Those sometimes have issues.
When you say SCART Cable, is is RGB or an adaptor for the yellow cable (composite)?
