Just a PSA: Blizzard are currently offering download versions of The Lost Vikings, Rock 'n' Roll Racing and Blackthorne for free. I've tried Rock 'n' Roll Racing already, and to be honest, it's a bit crap. Only 3 races, no character selection, and just one music track (understandable, due to rights). This is contrary to what the website says:
Rock ‘n Roll Racing is a battle racer featuring what might be one of the period’s best heavy metal/rock music soundtracks; licensed titles include ‘Born to be Wild’ and ‘Bad to the Bone’. The game is set across several planets such as Serpentis, Aurora and Fleagull. Players can choose from one of six characters, with different mixtures of skill points in acceleration, top speed, cornering and jumping; Olaf also makes a cameo as a playable character, through cheat codes! The game uses an isometric viewpoint (which can be difficult to get used to) and courses quickly become littered with hazards from previous laps – including, but not limited to, mines, lava, oil slicks and snow storms.
In any case, the manual states it is a lite version.
As far as I know, both The Lost Vikings and Blackthorne are the complete DOS versions.
I wish Blizzard would release Lost Vikings, Lost Vikings 2, Blackthorne, and Rock n Roll Racing on the Wii U Virtual Console. Maybe even make a new Lost Vikings game.
I remember around the release of the GBA port that they had a Flash demo for level 1 of Lost Vikings and I played that several times. Now they are giving away the full game? Sweet.
