The only ones I remember with much fondness are Mario Sunshine, Wind Waker and Paper Mario. I found the system (and that generation) a bit of a let down from the N64 generation. Honorable mentions go to Pikmin and Luigi's Mansion
Pikmin was a nice little gem and quite refreshing in my eyes. It was a little short, but i'm okay with that and the time limit didn't bother me really.
Another game I just love is Sonic Adventure and I don't think it gets enough credit. Yeah it may not have aged that well but Sonic handles the best in this game and the stages are the best in any 3D game yet in my eyes. Really the only gameplay style I didn't enjoy was Big the Cat but it was short enough and easy enough to get through for the last story
what!? with the great soundtrack, the way you have to battle the monsters before you capture them, the RPG combat system, the leveling, the dozens of different monsters you could obtain so you have extras that you don't even use
nah nothing alike
RE:4, F-Zero GX, Pikmin 2, Windwaker, and Mario Sunshine.
Those would be my top 5, but all are obvious choices.
Some others that are great but not AAA titles:
LOTR: ROTK, Star Wars Rebel Strike, Nightfire, and Gladius.
Doesnt resident evil 4 have more content on the PS2? Sorry if I'm wrong... But still, RE: 4 looks okay. Never actually played it though.
I might be wrong, but Resident Evil 4 was meant to be a exclusive (aka the original) to the Gamecube. At the time, that was really cool since the Gamecube was lacking with decent third party exclusive titles. Also it was fun telling my mates how awesome the game was, since they had a PlayStation 2.
For what ever reason, they did "port" the game to the PS2 months later and added extra content as a way of saying "sorry for the delay". Well my mates were pleased I guess. I wasn't too please, since I had a game with content it should have had from the beginning and this meant it wasn't a Gamecube exclusive any more. The graphics on the PS2 were worse than the Gamcube version however and the extra content wasn't all that special in the end.
The Wii version however has better graphics, all the PS2 content and controls that made the game more enjoyable. So I would personally get that version.
Super Smash Bros. Melee was the only game that me & and my brother would always go back to. It never got old and held many secrets. We loved Mario, Zelda, Kirby, Pokemon, ALL of the classic Nintendo characters, and for them to all meet up and just duke it out to see who's best in one game, man, that was just so magical to play the first time.
My second vote for best would have to be Pikmin 2.
zelda collectors edition promotional disc. this one had almost all the games on the previous consoles and some legit bonuses. that's OoT on the GAMECUBE controller (oh, sweet Jesus), and MM, also with the GC controller.
I cannot be bothered reading through 14 pages of posts just to see the same names come up there were SO MANY great gamecube games I really think that ANY of them could be the best. I however must vote for Pikmin 2 too
