Anybody own this game? Preferably the PC version? I heard the other platforms were different from the Wii's (and probably better...>_>), so I was thinking of getting it since it looks pretty good. Wanted to ask around to see what other people think of the game before getting it.
EDIT: ...Apparently there's some online mode to it too, what's that like?
BUY IT. As long as it runs on ur computer fine, you should enjoy it. As for the online modes, you basically create a custom-painted transformer and shoot the other players (or other team). I tried the 360 demo and it was great! http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/110/1100843p1.html
I heard it was extremely repetitive and should be avoided if you bore easily.

I thought the solo portion looked great but was average at best but I loved the multi player. I play capture almost exclusively but I love the speed and pacing...love it.
I picked up this game the other day when Toys R Us had a "Buy 1 PS3 Game, Get a 2nd at 40% Off" deals. I had been needing God of War III, so when I got to Toys R Us, I decided on Transformers: War for Cybertron. I must say, that I really am enjoying it. I think IGN's review was a bit too much, because I wouldn't give it a 9...but it's pretty high up on the scale. High Moon really hit the mark on presentation, I am so immersed in the world, and the voice acting and sound design are great. Sure, it gets repetitive at times...but what game doesn't? I don't want to get into the multiplayer until I have beaten the campaign, but that won't take long because each Chapter isn't that long, and they are paced wonderfully.
My question for those who have played the game; What campaign is your favorite? Autobots or Decepticons? I have played a bit a both, and based on the first few chapters...I had a great time playing as Megatron, I freaking love his weapons.

It's got a rather bland single campaign (which is made better if you're a huge fan of the franchise), but the multiplayer is where the fun is, imho.
Yeah, the campaign is pretty average compared to many other games, I guess, but I know I am getting a bit more "mileage" out of it just because of the nostalgia and how well they captured the feeling of Transformers. Now that I have played a few chapters as both Autobots and Decepticons, I think I am ready to finally hop into some online matches...can't wait to rollout with some buddies!

I've completed Decepticons and played a bit of the Autobots. I prefer the Decepticon campaign at the mo because I prefer Decipticons to Autobots plus they didn't put Jazz in the campaign.
Also I love the online. I do however think that the Leader and the Soldier are waaaaay to overpowered. I like Scientist and scout so I'm getting totally owned cos theyre underpowered (especially scientist).

for the multiplayer, i know there is all the experience point harvesting like there is in MW2 which i like alot, but are you being constantly rewarded with perks, guns, modifications, and titles and stuff? or no.....

I believe there are some perks and weapons that you can use. I could be wrong though. Many people I know have compared the online mode to the Call of Duty's online series.
I've changed my mind the Autobot campaign was far more supreme than the Decepticons. This was mainly because each level was pretty much (visuals aside) completely different from the last so it was much more original than the Decepticons' campaign plus every mission at least one new character was added in the Autobots' campaign while in the Decepticon one there was Megatron, Soundwave and Breakdown in 3 levels in a row! Still lovin' online and escalation though. Can't wait for Jazz and shockwave as dlc!
