Update on my laptop: the motherboard is somehow fried and Toshiba won't replace it due to an expired warranty. Guess I'll have to get my stuff off the hard drive and find another computer

Maybe I can finally get into Terraria with the new update and Christmas break. Does it support gamepads?

@irken Sorry to hear that, man.

@Oddy I believe that the game doesn't officially support gamepad control, but there are some work-arounds and unofficial patches that fix that. Although personally I don't see why anyone would want it, as Terraria is a very mouse-heavy game and playing it with a gamepad would involve combining the controls of a twin-stick shooter and a multi-weapon platformer.

I think I'm going to have to start a new Terraria game. This update looks amazing: 4 new bosses, 35 enemies, 200+ items, and another biome as well.

Anyone wanna trade Machinarium, Braid, Osmos and Revenge of the Titans for Terraria?

Well I came to the conclusion that I can sell what's left of my laptop for a little money (about $200 or less). In the meantime, I'll look for a desktop to start upgrading. Feel free to make some suggestions as to building a new computer. Goodbye Christmas PS3
