Well, thought I'd drop in and see what the talk is among my fellow PS gamers.
Me, haven't been playing much PS4, now that I sold off 30+ multiplats on eBay and repurchased for Xbox One. Needed room. My fully upgraded 2TB HDD was out of space 27 deleted games ago. So I grabbed a 4TB external for X1 which gives me 4.5TB a total vs my 2TB total on PS4. Also made sense from the perspective that PS4 gets a lot more exclusives than X1, quantity wise, so if I'm going to pick one to be the multiplat console, might as well make it the one with unlimited expandable space and make the one that gets more exclusive games an exclusive only console (like Wii U).
Anyways, been playing Dragon Quest III (SNES VC) and Dragon Quest VII 3D, ReCore, Forza Horizon 3 and a little XCOM 2 and Bioshock Collection, so again not really anything on PS4.
However, however however however, I did import a physical copy of Civilization Revolution 2 Plus for the Vita (the English Asian version). I've been dying to play the series which is typically PC only. There was one entry released on consoles- the original Civilation Revolution (CivRev) for PS3/360, but no BC support yet for X1. They ported it to DS- kinda in the style of Advance Wars DS, which I also picked up. But I wanted the console experience. That's when I learned that the CivRev sequel, made for mobile, actually released on Vita and has an English Asian version. It's simpler and obviously not as robust, but beggars can't be choosers at this point. Along with XCOM 2 I'm fast becoming a Firaxis fanboy.

Why oh why weren't those last three or four bookmarks like the whole game?!
I loved the complete lack of fighting those scraps and discovering that it was a pure creative platforming game; using the DualShock pad to move levels and platforms around was a masterstroke!
Talk about ending on a very high note. I must say that I can see why it is a more involving experience on the PS Vita though, given that the one scene where you were walking towards the You would have been far more effective (I don't have a PS camera, unfortunately).
The scrapbook was a wonderful way to conclude the story too.
I don't think I will bother collecting everything though - those gopher challenges alone would have me tutting to myself if I misplaced a step due to the slight finicky nature of the camera.
Quite happy to leave it as it is, and finally move onto Dear Esther.
@Peek-a-boo The last chapter seemed more like an epilogue instead; it was pretty sgort indeed, but definitely a high note for the game. I like to think that the first chapter acts as the introduction, the second as the conclusion and the third chapter as the epilogue/after credits part. It's definitely different from the first two chapters.
By the way, is that a typical British pub game, the one with those marbles? The only times I've played that game was in a pub in London and an "Irish" pub in Italy..
@Octane The last chapter was indeed short but (very) sweet.
I personally found that a couple of the bookmarks in the second chapter to be a bit of a slog; the lab and cavern levels springs to mind, especially with an erratic camera that seemingly had a mind of its own sometimes.
Those 'Irish pubs' in Italy are just as bad if not worse than those you often find in Spain! I always feel embarrassed when I see a row of stereotypical English pubs in Spain (and the Balearic Islands) and Italy.
I actually took that photo this time last week!
It is called 'peg solitaire', or marble solitaire as it known overseas. It is a great little way to pass the time, and is quintessentially English. It goes back many, many years and I don't think a pub is a proper pub without a wooden peg solitaire board resting upon a table somewhere.
@Peek-a-boo I figured as much. However, the owner was British and it was the only place that served a wide variety of beers, so I didn't have a lot of choice haha.
It's been a while since I played Tearaway Unfolded, so I can't really remember the exact details of each level. I only remember that it dragged on for a little too long in the first and second chapters. The lab was the one where you had to guide a ball around, right? I thought that was pretty neat, but I can't remember how long the entire level was. Although, looking back, the entire game probably took around 10 hours to beat, if not less. So maybe I'm just getting more impatient over the years!
@Peek-a-boo Oh, hey, that sounds neat. But wouldn't people potentially slip on the marbles?
Anyways, I do remember playing some peg board game with my family in a restaurant in New England (judging from an online description of the rules, it was the same thing, but with plastic pegs instead of actual marbles, because, like I said, they gotta avoid slippage). We were so confused and awed by it, in only because it's rare to see any sort of game in a public establishment, at least in the places we've gone to.
October's PS+ games were revealed. REmake and Transformers Devastation! Absolutely solid month. Resident Evil is perfect for Halloween.
Actually, the Vita and PS3 games they're giving away look worthwhile, too. I've been meaning to pick up From Dust since it came out, but I kept putting it off. Mad Riders looks like a good racing game that's at least different from the other two I already own for the PS3 (Burnout Paradise and Wipeout HD), so I'm looking forward to that.
On the Vita, I'm sorry I kept confusing Code:Realize with the Blazblue VN spin-offs, because it actually sounds really intersting. Like, when I was done reading the synopsis, I started clawing at the screen, going "let me read this! I gotta find out what happens!" I haven't said that in ages!
As for the other game, I've heard a lot of good things about Actual Sunlight...the game, I mean. Not the one that gives you cancer. The premise comes off as extremely depressing, though, so I had been skipping it this whole time. Maybe getting it for free will help me at least go in without expectations.
But yeah, Resident Evil as a freebie is almost too generous. Now I don't have to spend money on a Halloween game this year. Transformers: Devastation is also timely, since I saw the animated Transformers movie at a 'retro' theater matinee a few weeks ago, and now I'm really in the mood. It's kind of in the same boat as Mad Riders, too, in that it looks quick and fun, but not substantial enough for me to justify even a discounted price, but getting it with my subscription suddenly makes it like an arcade game where someone else is supplying the quarters, so I think it's well worth a shot.
From Dust is a pretty, pretty fun, god game. Like digging holes in the back yard. Just don't expect anything from the story. Its ending is like Journey, but terrible.

Popped to Tesco this morning to buy some fruit and vegetables for our Mediterranean chicken salad later, and walked out with FIFA 2017, Uncharted 4: A Thief's End and a 500GB PlayStation 4 for £147.
Got the second to last one too!
It's my lifelong friends 30th Birthday at the beginning of November so, hopefully I can split it three or four ways with some of his other close friends.
His favourite film is Indiana Jones: Raiders of the Lost Ark, and he loved all three Uncharted games on his PlayStation 3; what a perfect gift for him, I should think!
Well spotted Haru! I don't know how you figured it out...
Plonked FIFA 2017 onto Gumtree yesterday afternoon, then along came somebody who happily paid £35 for it thus making the PlayStation 4 and a copy of Uncharted 4 cost just £112.
It's my personal bargain of the year!
I'm not considering to buy a PSVR anytime soon however, it is only ten days away before it comes out.
Curious to see how it fares.
Seems like it's hard to get one on the day, given that the vast majority of pre-orders have been taken months ago. At least it looks like a premium piece of kit, going by the box itself:
The cat leapt up there to not save or help out the boy, but with the number 7 in tow after realising that it needs to be replaced with the number 6 at the end of the release date.
I'll believe it when the physical disc is in the palm of my hands.
