@Peek-a-boo Wasn't NieR already delayed at E3 from 2016 to 2017?
For a Japanese conference this was probably pretty good. I think that those PSVR dating sims will be more popular than some of the western blockbusters titles lol.
I don't even know whether Granblue Fantasy will ever get a western release or not, but I'm not counting on it. They also had that VR RPG game that looked interesting.
@Octane I think this kind of press conference is exactly why I watch events through Easy Allies. Better for Resident Evil Rick Roll comedy value, haha.
Their 2015 conference was definitely meatier, though. It announced the name "PSVR," Gravity Rush 2, and Nier: Automata if I'm remembering correctly. Moreover it was 2 hours long and we got to see the ultra white privilege CoD guy mispronounce "konishiwa."
@Haru17 Yeah, last year was much better. Can't have every conference top the previous one though. Paris Games Week is during the last week of October and PSX in early December. So even though none of the conference may live up to the hype that we're expecting, I think that's the result of spreading out your announcements over several conferences and meetings instead of just focusing on E3 for example.
@Peek-a-boo "Where was Square-Enix"? You already said Nier 2. That's enough, ain't it? Do you really want to see FF15 for the millionth time when it'll be on store shelves in 11 weeks? Especially since S-E probably has their own presentation to do later this week...
By saying 'where was Square-Enix?', I meant their other games like Kingdom Hearts III, Final Fantasy VII remake, World of Final Fantasy (or is this now out in Japan?) and their main pillar, Dragon Quest XI.
I was pleased to see Nier: Automata again though! I may have got a little bit confused in regards to the game being delayed once before. Seems like delay after delay on the PlayStation 4.
In other news, the 4.0 update is now available to download, hooray!
I spent about 20 minutes creating four different folders; I think I may have mild OCD or something...
A folder for my 'old' games (2014 & 2015), new games (2016), PS+ games (finally sorted these out!) and a folder for three games (on the go) that I am currently playing - Gravity Rush Remastered, No Man's Sky and Pac-Man Championship Edition 2, the latter of which came out today!
There's a really nice glittery midnight blue theme that reminds me of the one on the PlayStation 3. It is a dark enough theme for both day and night time gaming too.
Best update since the console first came out!
Anyways, I bet Paris Games Show and PSX will show some more of the 'big name games', as well as a couple of new surprises too. I am hoping we'll finally be able to see what Sucker Punch are up to.
Be nice if Sony can end the year on a high after their last month or so being somewhat ho-hum.
I still don't know how I should feel about The Last of Us 2 if it's real indeed. The game was perfect and I worry that any sequel won't live up to the first game. Some games are just better off on their own. Still, I have no doubt that the game will be amazing, but I would've loved if they made a completely new IP.
Anyway, there's a nice overview trailer of Dragon Quest Builders in English. Looks like there's more than just minecrafting about in this game:
@Octane The 'magazine scan' shows a woman who looks like a young Lara Croft!
You're right though. I hope The Last of Us is a standalone game that doesn't get a follow-up.
If however they feel compelled to do another one, I don't want to see Ellie or Joel; their story is finished.
:EDIT: Going back to the new 4.0 update, I separated all the games and PS+ titles into there respective folders and I had a bit of a shock knowing that I have purchase 65 (!) games since September 2014.
@Peek-a-boo oh. Then just wait until the 17th, S-E has their own conference in the Wings. Sony's thing was practically a teaser of what's to come. No one's gonna blow their load at the starting line when they have 5 (6?) days to show off stuff.

But that is what they do at E3, why not here?
People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...
@Peek-a-boo Looks definitely like Ellie + 10 years to me. Maybe if they want to continue with Ellie and don't mention the first game too much, it could work.. Still, I agree, their story is done, so I really don't need another Last of Us, despite the fact that it's probably my favourite game of the past 5-10 years.
65 games is quite a lot. I'm barely halfway there haha. I made the promise to only buy new games when I finish my current one (as I had and still have a huge backlog on my other systems). I can only play a physical and a digital game at the same time and it's working pretty well. I haven't touched Bloodborne yet, but that was a cyber Monday deal, so I'll let it slip.
