@Octane No, there's a load of PSVR exclusives. Physical titles of which will have on the box "Playstation VR required".

@Grumblevolcano I see, thanks. Nevermind then, it was the other way around, all PS4 games can be played on PSVR.

Lol, Nioh isn't coming out this year, guys.

Don't hate me because I'm bnahabulous.

This is why I usually don't pre-order anymore, guys. It's too much of a hassle to keep up with release dates, so I tend to just...not get too excited unless it's gone gold. I've been burned too many times by now, as well as burned out by the hype. I may as well save as much energy as I can for the games I can play right now...though I guess keeping up with the news and fan reaction of games I'm interested in every once in a while is still beneficial, if it means avoiding situations like No Man's Sky (I swear, I had a better example in my head when I started writing, but it escaped me. I can't seem to remember the last 5 years very well right now...)

I never understood pre-orders in the first place. I only pre-order a couple of days before release, so I can get the free shipping and occasional pre-order bonus. Never understood the need to pre-order games months in advance.

@Octane I'm more or less there. That said, I will pre-order Zelda the second they announce it for NX.

Well at least TLG isn't sandwiched between Titanfall and Battlefield anymore. Instead it's screwing over Gravity Rush 2.

This will do well in Japan! The limited edition Final Fantasy XIII PlayStation 3 console did very big numbers back in the day.

The English TGS feed is dead; watch the Japanese one instead.

And Hot Shots Golf/Minna No Golf looks AMAZING! 4 vs 4 online play too!

I might get called out on this, but the whole 'premise' of Summer Lesson is nothing but creepy.

And yet it will probably end up being one of the biggest selling VR game in Japan...

@Peek-a-boo It was bound to happen.. Not really my thing either, but they love that sort of stuff in Japan.

So Nioh launches on February 9th worldwide. NieR: Automata launches on February 23rd. February is packed (For Honor, Persona 5, and Horizon Zero Dawn all launch that month too!)

@IceClimbers I believe the physical edition of Hitman launches on the last day of January too. I was planning to pick that up as well. I really need to prioritise..

Haru must be shouting, 'I told you guys!'

February is looking JAM PACKED now. My wallet is already silently weeping...

Lots of focus on the PlayStation VR at the moment. The 'Anywhere VR' feature is pretty cool though!

This show is not as good as the previous two years (so far).

I thoroughly hope that that Biohazard 20th Anniversary clip wasn't the only snippet we will see of Resident Evil VII.

NX launch in March feels a pretty dangerous move for Nintendo now.

The whole conference summed up in one emotion:

You know me so well. That conference was hilarious, though: RE 20th anniversary build up into a music video. Like what? Haha!

Anyway, I needed to be right about the Nioh delay to redeem myself from expecting way too much at the Playstation Meeting. Sony needs to go home after these two press conferences, though. They're drunk on power.

Let's play "What will get delayed out of February!?"

9th | Nioh
14th | For Honor
~ ~ ~ Persona 5
21st | Halo Wars 2
23rd | Nier: Automata
28th | Horizon: Zero Dawn

My money's on Nier, even though Persona would be fun.

Actually, I have now cooled down after watching that show and I genuinely believe that it was probably the worse Sony conference I have witnessed.

  • Resident Evil 20th Anniversary build up... for nothing.
  • Seeing Ryu in the old Ninja Gaiden... for a Musou 'all stars' game.
  • Up appeared the Gravity Rush 2 logo/artwork... with nary a trailer to show for.
  • Nioh delayed; Nier delayed; The Last Guardian delayed yesterday. What's going on?!
  • Granblue Fantasy looks really good, but ended with a vague '2018' date... hype immediately diminished.
  • KOJIMA! He talked about his game without showing anything... release date? Probably in 2020. On the PlayStation 5.
  • Gravity Rush Remastered available on PS+... in Japan only.

Outside of Everybody's Golf shaping up well (summer 2017 though...) and the PlayStation VR looking more appealing (except Summer Lesson...), it was all very much a damp squib.

Where were Capcom or Square-Enix?

@Grumblevolcano I honestly wouldn't be surprised at this point. But on other Square affairs, I don't think Nier was ever announced for 2016. Unless I'm mistaken...?

Anyway, besides Kingdom Hearts, one good thing to come out of that press conference was this suuuper mysterious and emotionally disconcerting Nier trailer. Like, move over, Metal Gear!
