This is why I usually don't pre-order anymore, guys. It's too much of a hassle to keep up with release dates, so I tend to just...not get too excited unless it's gone gold. I've been burned too many times by now, as well as burned out by the hype. I may as well save as much energy as I can for the games I can play right now...though I guess keeping up with the news and fan reaction of games I'm interested in every once in a while is still beneficial, if it means avoiding situations like No Man's Sky (I swear, I had a better example in my head when I started writing, but it escaped me. I can't seem to remember the last 5 years very well right now...)
I never understood pre-orders in the first place. I only pre-order a couple of days before release, so I can get the free shipping and occasional pre-order bonus. Never understood the need to pre-order games months in advance.
So Nioh launches on February 9th worldwide. NieR: Automata launches on February 23rd. February is packed (For Honor, Persona 5, and Horizon Zero Dawn all launch that month too!)
@IceClimbers I believe the physical edition of Hitman launches on the last day of January too. I was planning to pick that up as well. I really need to prioritise..
February is looking JAM PACKED now. My wallet is already silently weeping...
You know me so well. That conference was hilarious, though: RE 20th anniversary build up into a music video. Like what? Haha!
Anyway, I needed to be right about the Nioh delay to redeem myself from expecting way too much at the Playstation Meeting. Sony needs to go home after these two press conferences, though. They're drunk on power.
Actually, I have now cooled down after watching that show and I genuinely believe that it was probably the worse Sony conference I have witnessed.
Resident Evil 20th Anniversary build up... for nothing.
Seeing Ryu in the old Ninja Gaiden... for a Musou 'all stars' game.
Up appeared the Gravity Rush 2 logo/artwork... with nary a trailer to show for.
Nioh delayed; Nier delayed; The Last Guardian delayed yesterday. What's going on?!
Granblue Fantasy looks really good, but ended with a vague '2018' date... hype immediately diminished.
KOJIMA! He talked about his game without showing anything... release date? Probably in 2020. On the PlayStation 5.
Gravity Rush Remastered available on PS+... in Japan only.
Outside of Everybody's Golf shaping up well (summer 2017 though...) and the PlayStation VR looking more appealing (except Summer Lesson...), it was all very much a damp squib.
@Grumblevolcano I honestly wouldn't be surprised at this point. But on other Square affairs, I don't think Nier was ever announced for 2016. Unless I'm mistaken...?
Anyway, besides Kingdom Hearts, one good thing to come out of that press conference was this suuuper mysterious and emotionally disconcerting Nier trailer. Like, move over, Metal Gear!
