Two reasons that made me decide to get a PS2 in Christmas 2001:
1. Backwards compatibility with PS1 games (which were available to rent at our video store at the time)
2. Disney Adventures had an article telling about "Kingdom Hearts", a game coming out the following year, which excited me (the idea of me teaming up with Disney characters to fight evil)
Finished up One Piece Odyssey over the weekend. Pretty decent, though it's probably only worth it for fans of the anime, or JRPG fans who've played most of the bigger stuff out there.
Also just started up Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse. Only cleared the prologue & chapter one so far, but it's creepy AF. Off the top of my head it seems a tad clunkier than Maiden of Black Water though, and it's tough to avoid taking hits (most of the encounters so far have taken place in hallways, so there's not much room for you to manoeuvre, while the ghosts can obviously phase through walls. This leads to scenarios where even when you know the general direction where an enemy is coming from, you can't attack it because it's behind a wall, you can't back up because of the tight space, and by the time it's in view it's already on you).

I recently pulled my PS3 out of storage, it still works fine (just connected with a now-defunct PSN account of mine that I should replace soon), and basically it's just a back-up Blu-Ray player since I sold all my PS3 games years ago.
@Anti-Matter In my defenseβ¦ this was before I moved into a low income apartment. Now itβs basically my back up movie player for DVDs and Blu-Ray discs.
Normally this is when I would get a PS5 on the spot, but after heavy thinking, instead of getting a new console right away, I'm gonna wait a couple of years.
Been playing the PS+ "free" game of the month, Meet Your Maker, over the past week. It's a better co-op game than I was expecting. Building the outposts is more fun than running into the enemies' outpost themselves. Every day after work I've been eager to login and see how many unfortunate souls have fallen prey to my machinations.
The run/kill rate of my lone outpost is 3.
Switch Physical Collection - 1,537 games (as of December 22nd, 2025)
Switch 2 Physical Collection - 4 games (as of December 8th, 2025)
Not too far in yet, but just arrived at an area that is absolutely massive & much more open world than any area I can think of from the first game. It's been great so far, but I can't help but feel a bit overwhelmed at the choice, lol.

Welp finally finished Horizon Zero Dawn. Gotta say I very much enjoyed the story and characters. Elisabet and Aloy are pretty great and I love the contrast that plays out during the game. Aloy is my kind of heroine though so I am looking forward to trying forbidden west.
The gameplay though was very outdated to me. You can only climb where the game wants you to and melee combat was a joke. Granted you are usually fighting machines but they throw too many human enemies for melee to be as bad as it is. Still I have found my new Sony series.

I just got "Infamous 2" for PS3. Luckily the servers are still online for this game so I can get the four trophies (making a level, playing 5 "new" levels and playing 25 total levels)
@JadeKitsune I went through both games for the first time about a year ago. Not as good as the hype around them. They were okay at best, but totally forgettable. Infamous 2 still looks damn good even by today's standards though.
