@JoyBoy that is thr exact spot in Demon's Souls that killed me the most lol. Trying to keep track of everything trying to kill you is ridiculous on that cliffside. After awhile I took my chances and ran past them. That worked like 75% of the time lol. That area, and the big swamp in the Valley of Defilement were probably the places I died the most. Great game though, didn't hit the dizzying highs of Dark Souls, Sekiro, or Bloodborne but I'd play it anytime.
And it was hard but I've managed to avoid almost all spoilers for Elden Ring lol. The only thing that catches me is when I'm browsing Youtube and I see a channel like Vaatividya post a video and the thumbnail pic has a monster or something in it. Or it's an advert and I have to quickly turn away like it's the Ark of the Covenant.

Give me a heads-up if you're going to send a request please.

LOL. Nice.
@BruceCM Oh, we are ready I'm actually free from work that day and I can't see myself doing much else than exploring and taking my time. I hope I don't forget to actually eat, like with when BOTW came out...
@Losermagnet Replying to your BB playthrough.... Wow, I'm really impressed by how quick you dealt with those dlc bosses... Like you say, they are TOUGH. But only 5 times for Orphan and 6 for ludwig and Laurence? That is really good! Maybe you had a bunch of experience already with Gael like you implied, since a bunch of the boss are natural evolutions of the previous ones. I died so many times to Orphan that I would have been ashamed to count But yeah, really fun boss that one; so aggressive and visceral, he actually scared me lol.
"Did the Church think that through the consumption of the Great One's blood that they would ascend or evolve?"
Yes, that IS what I got out of it at least. I'm also not sure what role the Orphan plays in the story. Maybe finally time to actually watch some Vaati's videos...
We always heard about Ludwig, so it's really to cool that you actually get to fight him(him remembering himself again by looking at his sword is, amazing. Actually standing up, being reminded that he is human... Great stuff) And yeah, actually getting to fight the woman the doll is based on... Great music all around in that DLC.

Hey everyone,
I'm thinking about picking up Dark Souls Remastered on Switch and wanted to ask people who are far more well-versed in the series than me: is the Switch version good as a first DS game? I don't have a PS/Xbox/PC so it's my only option when it comes to playing it (though as long as it runs well, I have no problems saying that). Thanks for the help!

@BruceCM I AM READY. I dont normally get hyped for release day, cause the game will only gonna get cheaper and improved with patches afterwords. But nuts to that for Elden Ring 'cause Soulsborne has been my obsession for a year now.
@JoyBoy Thanks! To be honest I feel like I was probably really over leveled. I'm not sure what the scaling was for NG+ but it was the last thing I did (including Chalice Dungeons) so I was as strong as I was gonna get. I really think Sekiro upped my aggression in a way that works well with Bloodborne. I was parrying more and using my trick weapon a lot more too, which I hardly experimented with at all on my first playthrough. That reminds me - the actual toughest thing I fought was Cursed and Defiled Amygdala. That thing killed me prolly two dozen times easy and it was the only thing that made me want to stop.
When you find out about the Orphan you let me know lol. It has me really puzzled because even Micolash says something about Kos, so I feel like there's this suggestion that a tragedy occurred. I think humans did something to Kos but I dont have any evidence to support this.
Hey @Fizza, I have no first-hand experience with the Switch version of Dark Souls but I hear it's a competent port. It's not a technical beast so there's parity with the releases on other platforms. One awkward problem with it was the normal 'a' and 'b' button functions are swapped (e.g., normally on Nintendo games 'a' is universally an accept or confirmation, and 'b' is cancel. This is the opposite in Dark Souls evidently). I say go for it and, if you do, feel free to share your experiences with us! 😁
That's how I played it & it was my entry to the series, @Fizza ... Haven't played it anywhere else to compare, mind you but I didn't notice any particular issues
@PhhhCough@Losermagnet@BruceCM Thanks foir the input guys! I'll make sure to get it once all of my other priorities out of the way (I've had The Great Ace Attorney since August and I still haven't played it so that'll be where I start).

One of the highest rated games of all time. Apparently the easiest (comparatively) and most accessible (comparatively) FromSoft game. You can apparently overlevel and one shot bosses. And magic is apparently super forgiving, as are summons. I think I might give this a shot. If you don't see me again, I found it way too hard and know better than trying to say that in this thread lol

The positive feedback is good news. I take this stuff with a grain of salt, but it's a good thing nonetheless. My main hope for Elden Ring is that it evolves the standard structure Fromsoft has been using for a decade and that it continues to evolve in the future. I'm a huge fanboy for their games, but even I dont want 'Dark Souls 4'.
I tried to get the day off of work so i could play Elden Ring on launch day, but my request was denied. Damn.
Yeah, I don't really care about the feedback. It's nice for Fromsoft though, they deserve all the credit.
@Losermagnet Yes, I also wouldn't want a DS4. I loved BB because it was so different and Sekiro for the same reason.
That sucks though, your request being denied... Saturday in the morning till the afternoon I can't play because of work and in the evening I'm gone so I'm kinda happy I can play Friday! Next week though.... FREE the whole week to play the EEEEELDen ring..
@Losermagnet That sucks mate, I hope that you get some time to play it soon.
I can't wait for it to be available. Right now BOTW is my favourite game this generation, but I think that this one has a good chance to dethrone it. I have avoided spoilers and as much information as possible because these games are fantastic to discover by yourself.
Huh, just checked & I won't be playing Elden Ring today, it only unlocks at 11 pm over here! Ah, well, at least I got my pre-order key now so it is downloading & I should be able to play some before I have to go into town tomorrow morning

Yeah, same. I might try and get up early if I can be bothered just to make a start, ready to dive in properly after work tomorrow. If not, it is preloaded and ready to go for me after work tomorrow.
Seems odd it only unlocking at 11pm, really .... Perhaps it'll make @Losermagnet feel better, though? Is the console version out now or tomorrow, then?
