1. HipHopGamer leaked this January of this year. 2. Paul Gale used to be a writer for 1Up, and has contributed articles for EGM and CVG. 3. He has attended every E3 for 12 years straight and was even made into a background character in Street Fighter IV. 4. You are saying it's fake because you wish you could be just like him.
Yes, all the necessary requirements for an announcement not to be fake.
I don't believe rumors (which this still is) until an official announcement is made
You don't believe in leaks? Because that's exactly what this situation is.
Just to add credence, HipHopGamer leaked Kratos as being a playable character in the Mortal Kombat reboot about a year in advance.
And how often are leaks actually accurate? I can tell you that not many are
That depends on what/who you are following, and since I follow people who actually have credence in the industry, they are rarely wrong. And seeing how Sony has already shown interest in making crossover games (look up "PlayStation Move Heroes", "PAIN", and the appearances of Sony characters in 3rd party games) I'd hardly consider this just a pipedream.
Haven't played in awhile, but you mostly press square over and over or O if you're close range (depending on the character). Sure Duodecim is far better, but even then, I think Smash Bros. is superior. What I love about both is that they are simple games without all the stupid complications seen in other fighting games. Dissidia does a great job in mixing the Fighting and RPG genre seamlessly while Smash Bros. blends Fighting and Brawlers into one.
You can't really make a direct comparison, other than the fact they are considered fighting games and crossovers (and I mean fighting game to the general public).
Now, back to topic: I curious to know what they'd call the game.. Sony's Crossover Fighting Melee...?
Uncharted: Chains of Clank on Little Big Planet.....
@komic: It's probably more because I'm a FF fan over a nintendo-character-peoples fan, and with all the little FF in-jokes and cameos (not to mention the wonderful musics~) it's just more my type.
And oh yeah it's fun.
If you're playing like this

You're doing it wrong. And I don't mean that what you said is not how it plays anyway, I mean button mashing. You have to know what moves all the characters have and what each one does, with each playable character being completely different and having unique attributes. There are 6 different bravery attacks and 6 HP attacks you can set at once, and you have to know what each one does and how to pull them off if you plan on being good at all. You also have to understand all the different abilities and have accessories to fit your playstyle, not to mention the added assists in 012 and what they bring (being the counter to EX mode and stuffs, and allowing you to combo since you can summon them even if you're in an attack animation). Speaking of summoning we can't forget summonstones... Okay sorry I'll stop D:
Yes it's not comparable to SSB really, but it's not as shallow as you make it out to be. and much less so than SSBB >:3
um... On Topic: I still want Snake to be in it, then I'll be happy. He was in SSB, so why not?

Otherwise, those companies with large stables of popular characters are too busy either making superior (Dissidia Final Fantasy) or cheap and inferior (that GBA Sonic Fighting game) mash Em ups to bother copying Nintendo's formula.
Dissidia and Sonic Battle have nothing in common with SSB other than being fighting games.

Might wanna check your facts.
Instead of some lame witty comment, you could atleast, you know, explain why in your post or something.
Chocobo wasn't saying they were similar. He was explaining that some companies are too busy making original fighters to make Smash clones.
Also, I didn't notice anything in the article to suggest this game will be like Smash, just that it too has an all star cast, unique stages, and items. No mention of how damage/health works or if you can fall off stage.
