Based on tv console games, I'm probably going to enjoy the Samurai Warriors game the most, as I prefer feudal japan to feudal China.
Looking through the range of PSP games available on PSN now... Really nice range! Harvest Moon, Koei games everywhere, Lord of the Rings tactics (which I nearly bought a PSP for way back whennit was originally released...), and Final Fantasy Vii through IX in portable form... Yeah, I like this console already.

Ah, cool, cool.
The PSP is a SRPG MACHINE, dude, it's crazy. =P You should get the Disgaea games and Jeane D'arc. And on the PS Classics there's the Arc the Lad series which is FANTASTIC.

Jean d'arc is not on the Aus PSN... Might be on the Japanese one though.
One downer I have found is that switching between accounts is clunky on PSP. On the plus side, the PSone emulation works well, so I now have FFVIII portable
Muchly enjoying Samurai Warriors on PSP... Exactly what I was hoping for, and very playable for short bursts on the train or whatever. Didn't realize there was another Koei "warriors but not called such" game on there called Undead Knights... Another must have?
Ooooh and Valhalla Knights! And Monster Hunter! Both games would be even better for PSP than Wii, I reckon!
Only problem is, I only have 9GB left already, and that's before downloading the 10 free games I have coming...

Undead Knights I have and hear good things about, but have no space to play. You could DL the demo if its available. Valhalla Knights and Monster Hunter play horrifically on the PSP, IMO, but that never seems to deter the fans for some reason.
So I downloaded Valhalla Knights 2, and I enjoy it. Not as much as the Wii game, perhaps, but it's still very much my kind of game.
Also grabbed the demo of 30 second hero, and I love it. Definitely have to purchase at some stage.
Between the PSone classics, the minis (quick and easy puzzle games, which I love) and the RPGs/ SRPGs, I'm convinced the PSP is the ideal console for me. Can't believe it took this long to pick up one.

I thought the very same thing. My fave console this gen, I like it even more than the DS right now.
Took long enough but my PSP finally shipped today so I should have it by the end of the week. I told myself I would wait until Christmas to open it but I don't know if I'll be able to hold off that long. Thanks for the recommendations, Mickey! I'll be sure to check them out. The Wipeout games are on my buy list for sure!
@WaltzElf Glad to see you're enjoying the Go. I saw it at Best Buy and was really impressed at how portable it is compared to the older models. I was really torn between the two and decided to get the black/red PSP 3000. It's a nice compliment to my God of War 3 Ultimate edition and I can borrow my friend's old games. Where did you get that great deal anyway?
@SilentJ - I picked it up at a local retailer, who was discounting below the RRP of the bundle. Not quite sure how JB HIFi profits from selling the PSPGo below price, considering there's no retail game sales for the thing to make back the money, but I'm not complaining.
I definately think the PSP suffered all these years by not having the "casual" experience down. It's awesome for hardcore or indie titles, but I don't think there's a thing on it for Grandpa or little sister.
Not that I'm complaining, in the slightest. The console is ace for an RPG nut And digital download only really works for me. I like the fact my entire console and games collection takes up less space than a single DS game.
I'm thinking of grabbing Fate/Unlimited Code somewhere down the road. Anybody know if it really is any good? Especially now that the price dropped (Permanently)?
I think they gomup in $10 increments, with $10 being the minimum.
However, assuming something does cost more than $10, you can just pay for it, rather than having to load up your account with funding first.
For instance, if you want something that costs $23.95, then you can put exactly $23.95 on your account. However if you want something that costs $6.95, then you still need to put the minimum $10 on.
I'm not sure about the psp but on the ps3 the minimum is $5 not $10. I do wish that if you just wanted to buy an avatar you could do without spending the $5......
Waiting for Valkyria Chronicles III but somewhat annoyed that they have added yet another Valkyrur in the game (playable Valkyria form in SP mode).
I have the Japanese demo and I live the Black Attires of these rogue soldiers who fight for their identity.
I forgot about the Japanese demo! I think I wanted to wait until I got Valkyria Chronicles 2, but I think I'll break down sooner or later and just play it.

I think you can just pay the owed amount if your account is either empty or below the amount you owe. That's how I get all my PSN games.
Alright, but what if I had $8 on my account from a PSN card, and I went to buy Super Stardust Portable for $10.. Would it only charge my credit card $2?

You could try and see. If it's trying to charge you more, just back out.
