Played Splaterhouse for a couple of hours, and you know what? I like it. It's a very uncomplicated beat em up - a Dantes Inferno or God of War lite, if you will, but it plays very smoothly, and has a great style about it.

The violence is very cartoon, and there's a lot of humor about it. Save points are frequent enough you can play in short bursts, and it seems like it has a decent enough length to it - after 2 hours play I'm only 3% in, and there's three difficulty levels.

The only complaint is... It's not nearly as adult as a Dantes Inferno, and its not as complex as God of War.. Or as violent. The massive amount of gore desentises you pretty quick.

But overall I recommend it for beat em up fans with a sense of humor, so far. Shall let you know if that opinion changes.

GT5 is great! It's the same Gran Turismo Simulator that some love and some hate. If you didn't like it before you still probably won't like it now. I love it myself. The NASCAR racing is phenomenal as well as the Kart Racing Series. Finally got my Corvette and man I'm happy.

BLACK FRIDAy!!! --- picked up Starwars the force unleashed 1 for $10 along with Need for speed hot pursuit for $35 both very good games and prices, and i bought a few games for my brother for christmas, all in all an hour well spent, with total savings at $80

Let us know what you think of Hot Pursuit. I thought about getting it but I recently got NFS Shift so I decided to hold off for now. I was planning on ordering Star Wars TFU for $10 too but it's no longer at that price on Amazon. Same thing happened with the LBP PSP bundle yesterday. I was about to place my order for $129.99 when I noticed it shot up to $220. I was so upset I almost ordered the God of War PSP bundle at full price.

I did end up getting a PS3 for my mom. For $299.99 I got the 160GB Slim, Ratchet & Clank Future ACIT, & Singstar Dance Party Pack. I ordered from Amazon so there's no shipping fee or tax as usual. I absolutely love ordering from Amazon! I just hope I get my shipments in before Christmas.

I also took advantage of the PSN sale and got Top Gun, Deathspank, & PixelJunk Racers 2nd lap.

Did anyone else get any good deals?

@SilentJ... Yeah I got 10 Indy games including World of Goo and And Yet It Moves and 8 more games for $10 on Steam But, I got Halo Reach for my brother and snatched Goldeneye for Wii for $5. I also snatched the Deathspank and PixelJunk Racers as well. Lots of indy love for the holidays.

I decided to pick up a 160GB PS3 from GS Friday morning! I wasn't expecting to get one but Wal-Mart screwed me (as well as a lot of other people) over with their 5am door buster deals by giving everybody these wrist bands (that guarantee you would get the items) a full 10 hours before the sales began. So I went with the used system mainly to get a jump on their rewards items.
Also as part of their buy two get one free deal I aslso got the following games for 10 bucks each.
MGS4, Skate2, MLB09, Fallout 3, and a retro Sega collection game.

Have really got into any of the games yet but I guess I got lucky cause the previous owner is into the same type of music as me. Their was also around 20 demos on the PS3 too. With all the stuff that was on their I kinda got scare when I went to play GTA:LCS and it started to install the game automatically.

Oh... so expect a lot of random PS3 questions from me like: is their anything that I need to get off the PSN store(that's free) cause I don't have a home internet connection right now, but I have access to one. I was told by a Best Buy employee that imma need download something from the network if I want to play games in 3D but that's all I'm aware of right now.

@Slappy: That fact lead me down a road that resulted in a massive headache. I saw your new Select avatar, which lead me to sign in on Playstation.com to check on my status. Sadly, I still have none. My brother, on the other hand, is at Select and halfway to Pro. We can't figure out why the heck this is, and relatively extensive research on the beta forums didn't help at all. I'm getting really sick of this whole Rewards thing at this point, simply because the program doesn't work consistently. Did you know that some people are already at Legendary status? Based on what Sony said when the program launched, that should literally be impossible. There are others who have bought and played several new games and gained NO progress whatsoever. What's with that crap?

My poor PS3 has been getting neglected these past few weeks as I've been into Okami, No More Heroes, and DKCR on my wii and COD Black Ops on my 360. I won't be playing her again until Dead Space 2 and Killzone 3 ship sadly.

@Stuff.... Yesterday I was about 75% of the way to Select, the today I am over 25% of the way to Pro. I think the server updates every few days or so. I did buy Gran Turismo 5, and also the games I've been playing for reviews as well as the PSN games I purchased for the Winter Sales, when finally updated put me into the Select status I'm guessing. The system does seem screwy, but I'm not really complaining as it is a beta, though if I was in your shoes I would be pissed as well. Heck, my brother had a copy of Modnation Racers here and I stuck it in a played it for awhile just for the Rewards points, and I'm guessing that helped as well.

@Skullman... Don't feel bad, I just purchased a new laptop and I've been playing a lot of Steam game lately myself. PC gaming isn't something I've ever been into much, but Steam makes it very worthwhile with some of these insane sales of late.

I feel bad, the PS3 a year ago was my main machine, now my time is spread across all 3 and the PS3 the least. Ever since getting a 360 last fall and catching up on my wii games really hurts. I feel like I'm cheating on my girlfriend sometimes, I've always been a playstation guy, lol.

Picked up a ps3 and I also picked up a copy of Demons Souls and...well...wooow, It rightfully deserves the scores that it got. Any ps3 exclusives that I should grab? Already have inFamous, Ratchet and Clank, MGS4, Killzone 2, ordered. Thanks in advance!

Also Skullman, when I picked up my ps3 at gamestop I grabbed DKCR too. I was more excited about DKCR than the ps3. Make of it what you will.

@Skullman.... there is nothing wrong with playing across multiple systems. If you haven't picked up Fable 3, do so as its incredible. Monday, Ill have my copy of Goldeneye Wii and DK Wii soon as well and that will take me away from my PS3 a bit too

@Thegame... welcome to the site and thread. Glad to see you already have Demon Souls as its brutally challenging but extremely rewarding all the same. Such a perfect game. The Uncharted Series is a must have for all PS3 owners in my opinion.

My review for Auditorium HD went up the other day and I haven't said anything about it in here. I really think you guys will love this game. If you have Move then I highly recommend it. If you liked Flow/Flower then I would say this game is probably a perfect 10 for you

I wonder if there will be any new Move games being announced soon. Wasn't there something about Epic Mickey coming to PS3 using the Move?

PSN is really starting to take-off in the Move games. Funk Lab Rat has a review upcoming and was launched last week on PSN. Deadstorm Pirates (Part of Time Crisis Retail Disc Release), Auditorium HD, Beat Sketcher, Tumble, and Flight Control HD all were well received Move games from PSN and a few came out of nowhere it seemed. I would expect a few more PSN Move titles to pop-up just a few weeks from its release from now on.

Amazon's been great this week. The only deal I missed out on was White Knight Chronicles for 15 bucks...I got Uncharted (finally own it--gonna give it another playthrough the SECOND it arrives ) and Ratchet and Clank: A Crack in Time for 15 bucks earlier, as well as a couple Wii games (Endless Ocean Blue Whatever w/ Wiispeak for $15 since my nephew has it and now we can co-op and talk )

BTW, for any who don't know (PSP, not PS3, but I'm writing it), Ys: Oath in Felghana came out for PSP recently. It's so hard it almost makes me cry. It's great though--not quite the super-massive masterpiece that Ys 7 was, but really clean and insane boss battles.
