@Stuff: Yeah, I googled the keypad; it looks kinda weird. But the fact that I can use any old USB keyboard is interesting, as I could probably pick up a crappy, cheap keyboard somewhere.

Well, that's a shame for Go owners that KH:BBS will not be on PSN, and I think Go owners should just switch over to the 3000. It's sad that the best PSP game is not even avaible to Go owners. I bet the reason why is because of Disney's American branch not wanting their games to be downloadable. Anyway, I just wanted to share that it looks like Shadow of t... I always wanted to try Shadow of the Colossus, so this is awesome news for me. Next time I'm online, I deftinely need to buy Castle Crashers, KH:BBS has been taking up more than half my time due to it's awesomeness.
@Strofan: In theory, yes, but there have been a lot of complaints about broken online in the PSN version. You might want to look into that more before shelling out $15 for the game.
@Hyper Knuckles: That game's been in rumorland for months. I doubt much of anyone is surprised it's real at this point. Good news nonetheless...I never gave Ico a fair chance, and I couldn't bring myself to finish Shadow of the Colossus on my BC PS3 'cause it looks so rough. And HD redo is PRECISELY what that game needs.
And yes, BBS is awesome. It has eaten a good chunk of my gaming time as well, especially working on the 100% completion. Command Board...away!

I know this is old news, but I was very saddened to hear Cavia, the development studio behind Nier, has been wound up because Nier underperformed.
Very sad. Nier is absolutely amazing. It's filled with clever homages to other game series - from text based adventures to 2D platformers to Resident Evil. Not all of them worked, but overall, it is amazingly creative.
The story is brilliant - It's so heartachingly sad in places, but at the same time filled with hope - and it's one of the few games that doesn't always degenerate into cliches.
The music is unbelievable - one of the best operatic scores I've heard in videogames.
The game isn't sandbox in the true sense, but for a JRPG, it comes close. Sidequests are a big part of the game, and then there's amusing diversions such as fishing and farming to occupy time with as well.
If you like JRPGs, you really should have this game.

Just because you like one game doesn't mean other's will too. Same genre or not.

I see you haven't come across the idea of a "recommendation" before.
@Sean.... lol, but you dont get pneumonia from sleeping with the window open
@Waltz.... I will get Nier at some point, I really think games such as this are having a hard time finding buyers with ALL the incredible games dropping all the time on PS3 over the last year, its hard to find time to keep up with all of them.
@BB.... dude, Ill get my Bioshock 2 copy back soon and we will have to get some online time on, the online is great.

It's unfortunate that the few times Square Enix puts something into the market that isn't a "Final Fantasy" or "Dragon Quest", no one buys it because it isn't a "Final Fantasy" or "Dragon Quest"
They shoulda called it "Final Fantasy: Nier" - then everyone woulda bought it.
Mind you, I look forward to the next thread/ editorial/ magazine article bemoaning the lack of creativity in the games industry. Because Nier proves taking a risk works. I'll say this: (and this definately isn't pointed at you, Slapshot - but gamers in general, I'm on a soapbox here ) You only have yourselves to blame. If you actually wanted original, creative games and not sequels you shoulda damn well bought Nier.
BTW Cavia - I'd totally hire you all if I had a few million to blow

Hah, sucks for them.
True story - I was sadder about this than Atlus. Cavia was shaping up to take over From Software as my fav RPG dev.
In the RPG space (they made a lot of crap based on Japanese Anime as well): Drakengard and Drakengard 2 was its main ones, but Nier was by far its biggest profile non-Japanese release.
For DS owners, it was also the dev behind KORG DS-10.
So, as I was also a fan of Drakengard, and it was a relatively new developer that was improving over the years (Nier is a big improvement on Drakengard). I had high hopes for a Nier 2.
To answer my own question: They made Ghost in the Shell: Standalone Complex, Steamboy, both Zegapain games, DBZ: Supersonic Warriors 2, Korgs DS, the Resident Evil Rail shooters, and then a bunch of crap I don't care about. Out of all of those, DBZ: SSW2 was the only game that was exceptional(IMO). I won't miss them. You'll get over them. Moving on.
