@WaltzElf: Atlus does tend to publish a certain kind of game, to the point where the company can be said to have a style of its own. Yes, there are exceptions (Droplitz, anyone?), but on the whole, you can get a somewhat better idea what you may be in for when a game says Atlus than with some bigger companies. As such, it makes sense to be an "Atlus fan."

@Roopa: There's just enough differences between American and European English to merit separate translations. We don't have to be bombarded with excessive "u's" thrown in needlessly (i.e. "colour," of course) and you don't have to wade through our idiosynchrocies (probably spelled that wrong).

I dunno... Shin Megami Tensei is very different to The Dark Spire, which is very different to Trauma Team. Atlus is a niche player. Niche players are always going to have fans of those kinds of niches, and Atlus, as a company should be commended for sticking to its guns and having a very narrow niche... but thematically so many of the games they publish have nothing to do with one another.

I dunno, it just makes sense to me to be a fan of the developers for the games themselves, and the publisher for their business practices. I like most of the games Atlus publishes, too, but Demon's Souls is not "thier" game. Is all I'm saying

@ waltz... you should reread my post with the video of Catherine in it. I clearly stated that Atlus develops and publishes and that from Software developed both Demon Souls and 3D Dot Heroes lol. No big deal just a little clarification.

As for From Software, its incredible how great Demon Souls and 3D are compared to all there other titles. Most all of them are horrible.

I would have to say I'm a Atlus fan on both sides Dev and Publisher.

Wow. PS3 Slim has been hacked too with the same process.
This is really bad.
All you basically do with this hack is put a game in,and the USB drive backs it up.
Now imagine what people can do with such a hack that lets you back up any game that gets put in the PS3 drive.
Rent some games and back them up? or maybe get some games from friends and back them up.

This is all using the USB ports on the PS3 so what will Sony be able to do?
Limit the memory in a USB drive? maybe cut it down to 5GB's?

If not. This can be dangerous and the youtube video has already hit 300,000 views.
I suppose we should all get ready for the Firmware Updates.

Thus making many many people's PS3 accessories useless. Sony wouldn't do that. Guarantee you that.
What is worrying about this hack is how easy and accessible it is. A kid could make backups using this program,thats how easy it is. Sony is gonna have to start thinking on how to counter this. The PS3's SDK got leaked this year and if they can backups of PS3 games with their own programs,you can bet they can make Homebrew thus making hackers and cheaters in online games more frequent. The hack is going mainstream now so Sony probably has seen it and is investigating.

I got two Birthday cards today.
I got 40 euro overall so that is pretty much New Vegas for me on release date.
They were from relatives like my grandmom and usually my dad or sisters give me like 30 euro each so that would be GT5 and new vegas both on release for me.

Then we have Xmas. So yeah. My gaming needs are gonna be satisfied this holiday!

I'm sure Nippon Ichi Systems or Koei release Atlus games over here in Europe if they cannot publish the games themselves (I think Trauma Team is the only exception here).

Not sure if I ever have seen Rising Star publish an Atlus game yet...

New Sorcery Tailer looks even more incredible than the E3 demo. This is my most anticipated game of the next year by a long shot!

Im not the biggest fan of his work outside of Contact, but heck bring it on Suda.

Just beat Hell Burbia after playing it 4 lik 4 hours. I did it solo and then a level 29 joined on round 19 and got a free trophy hehe

@WaltzElf: I agree that there's a lot of thematic variation with Atlus games, but I was indeed referring the the hardcore JRPG niche. Since Atlus publishes a lot of games from very obscure Japanese developers, it's sometimes difficult to remember who actually made what. Paying attention to a game because Atlus is publishing is much easier.

@Sean: They'll probably have a firmware update that somehow blocks whatever program is being used to back up the games. They DEFINITELY can't block off USB access because they know people back up their entire hard drives through USB (and indeed, they condone this when done properly). I see no way they could even unreasonably remove features available to legitimate customers in fixing this problem, unlike with the Other OS situation. I wouldn't worry too much about it...it's Sony's problem, not ours.

Its just a matter of time before they make the product illegal just like with what happened with the DS. Im sure we will see some pirates in getting locked up without any rum

Looks like Im gonna have to skip out on black ops for the ps3 as I really want move and just dont have enough money 4 both.There are really gonna be a lot of great games coming out this year and early next year so I think im going to have to hold of on more than black ops and reach for xbox Whichc means no project natal and then the move bundle and another move controller so I can actually play the game because u need two controllers for archery and a couple other games and that will b it 4 me. Im gonna hav 2 trade in a lot of games that i dont play anymore in order to get all that but i dont want to trade in games that i barely played but dont play anymore.

Castle Crashers is gonna have two new game modes. Volley ball and co-op arena like 2vs.2 or 1vs. 3

I probably won't buy Black ops until Xmas.
For now it is GT5 and New Vegas.

Yea ill probably be getting GT5, New Vegas, LBP2, 2 playstaion moves, sports champions, Sly cooper collection, time crisis, Lord of the Rings: Aragorn's Quest, The Fight: Lights Out, The Shoot, and Kung Fu Riders along with black ops and halo reach for the 360. Never get anyy games for christmas and the n i wont be gettingt anything else until april besides mass effect 2 and killzone 3 next year

Sly Cooper Collection is gonna have three platinums and playstation move mini games for another arcade trophy list. Hopefully this will make square enix remake kingdom hearts one and two in one disc
