Topic: Nintendo Life Playstation 3 Fan Thread

So Gamestop opens up in less than 2 hours and I still have not have decided whether I should buy FFXIII or not.
If I were to buy FFXIII,I'd have to buy BC2 along with it as I'm lazy and don't go down town much. lol

I'll have atleast 75 euro(around $85) left if I buy both FFXIII and BC2.

Maybe I can get the DLC for GTA4?
Or buy GoW3?

So many choice's to be honest and this does wreck my head having to make choice's with what games I should buy.

@Sean.... I do get that GT is a simulator and I alctually loved the first 2, especially GT2. I just havent cared for them since. Maybe I played the second one too much I dont know. Dirt 2 is in fact a sim itself. It comes from the same line of developers who made the Collin Mcrae series all the way back to the PS1 days. Very fast and very hard if you have never played a dirt racing sim. GT to me feels like the same game rehashed over and over, wich of course it is, but the few changes in every installment isnt enough to keep me buying I guess.

I bought the game yesterday, and although I'd played a little of the battle system in Japanese, this is the first time I've had a chance to start the game and get a sense of the story.

It's great, but at the same time, the complaints that reviews are leveling at it are legitimate. It is very cut scene heavy, and it is very linear. However, I utterly love the game, because I don't mind that style of gameplay. Others won't I realise.

But so far, so good. My favourite opening 4 hours to a Final Fantasy game yet.

@Waltz.... it being linear is actually one thing Im looking forward to in FFXIII as I like my long RPGs on my DS or PSP. Ill pick up at some point, no time soon though.

@Fikraag.... To answer your question from another thread I saw a minute ago, no I havent actually gotten my hands on Dragon Age yet. I bought Demon Souls and my broinlaw bought Dragon Age and we are suppose to swap at some point but MW2 has put a stop on everything lol. Bayonetta is also another one my buddy has and when he gets done with Ill get my hands on it as well.

Seeing as i'm not getting FF13 for another month, I pre-ordered Yakuza 3 today, should arrive by Friday. Been looking forward to this game for a long time, so I've got something to play in the meanwhile. The pre-order bonus was pretty sweet, and the regular European release of Yakuza 3 is basically the US collectors edition.

In other news, I just started on Valkyria Chronicles yesterday, i love it so far, beautiful graphics, innovative gameplay and while the story might be a bit too cute it's pretty refreshing these days with all the serious games everywhere. Only 4 chapters in, great game.

i have way too many games to play....

@Sean: I know that feeling! In fact, I've recently been purging my collection of older stuff I realize I'll never actually get around to playing (I may have mentioned this previously), and am cutting back on purchasing plans forthcoming. Hopefully, that will work out the way I want it to instead of me getting weak and picking up crap I don't need (or even good games I just don't have time for).

I feel that there are too much games to complete or buy so now I must put FFXIII aside till I complete them all. BC2 will be a piece of cake,Fallout3 is already done but I'm getting around to the side quests(which are almost done too)

Can people PLEASE tell me if they're PS3 gets hot?..
I put BC2 into my PS3(my PS3 was off for about 12 hours so thats enough to cool down) and after 25* minutes...its already warm?
Seriously...I had to turn it off due to that and now i have my Bed room window wide open to cool it down.
Also it could be my Heater because its on and my PS3 is beside it.(Heaters basically....heat up rooms for those in other countries who use a different word lol)

Damn...I have such a nice set up and its tidy so I don't want to have to move my set up across the room...

Hm...your PS3 is getting hot, and it's beside the heater that's supposed to heat up your room. Yeah...I think the two might be related. Why do you have any expensive electronic device near a heater? Move that thing! Do you want a fire?!

I take it this is the official name of the controller previously unofficially referred to as "Arc?" Pretty lame, IMO, but at least it makes sense. That is indeed more than can be said of Nintendo and Microsoft's motion controller's names.

Who's saying it isn't? I'm just saying, I think the name is stupid. It sounds boring, stupid, and simple. Whoever comes up with the names for these companies (Move, Wii, Natal) is crazy. And they couldn't come up with a better name than "Sub-controller"? I like Sony, but honestly that is just pathetic.

I prefer simple names. Simple names have an elegance about them that takes no risk of sounding stupid by trying to be abstract.

"Wii," for instance. Great console, terrible name. Why? Because Nintendo tried to be clever.

You have no idea how hard it is to come up with a good name for a product. It's better to keep things simple.

It sounds awkward because it's more commonly a verb, not a noun. Being simple and descriptive is certainly positive, but mixing up parts of speech just makes it sounds off. Wii is a fine name. It worked well enough, anyway. It made people ask about it, for one thing. "The what? The Wii?" If they just called it Super Nintendo 65, people who ordinarily ignore gaming talk would continue doing just that. Hearing someone talking about the Move, they might just think the speaker is struggling with his English classes. And what's wrong with Natal? As a name it sounds pleasant and intriguing in the same way Wii was.
