I played it too in my mates house on his HDTV.
I got an old SDTV but its big and does the job.

To be honest,paying that much money for a new TV with just a crisper image is insane.
Theres not much of a big Difference and Yes i have played on an HDTV many times and still don't feel the money is worth the upgrade.

Comparing a Simulator to an Arcade racing game isn't fair.
Those games you listed out are all arcade racing games.

People need to honestly understand that the GT series is for HARDCORE people that are insanely into racing and driving cars.
Its a simulator:If you treat it like a Need for Speed game or any other of those games listed,you will only crash into a wall or spin out.
Thats why its difficult.

When I played the Physics demo last December,I never spun once and I never crashed once.

Only MW2? Not exactly a console selling game, for any system, but whatever...

In fairness,MW2 can look good in some parts.
It has nice lighting effects.

The level underpass shows this and looks impressive.

Oh, he wants to get one for the graphics? I thought he wanted one because MW2 is such an amazing game. It looks great, but gameplay is meh.

It sells the system his friend was playing it on. Because obviously he'd want to play it with his friend.

Either we're not playing the same game, or i'm just used to it. But I never have problems navigating, at all and i'm 22 hours into my current playthrough and even after many years since i played it last i'm just not seeing it. But to each their own, i'm just saying that the critique about navigating is a first for me, i've never heard that being used against the game before a couple pages ago in this thread, strange huh?

Also finished Arkham Asylum tonight, got 240/240 riddlers challenges complete now I just gotta find the person who recorded those rune stones.. I've been searching the island for hours and I just can't figure it out, oh well it'll come to me, i've come this far without a guide and i'm not gonna ruin it by doing it on the last part either.. 10/10 game though, really good.

We ARE playing different games if you don't think is a seriously ugly game. I think it actually manages to be one of the few games that gets critical acclaim while ignoring the laws of aesthetics entirely.

I'm a massive Final Fantasy game, but I reckon VII has aged the worst of the entire series - of course, that is just my opinion, but I don't find VII playable any longer.

FF7 has aged badly graphically but the characters and storyline hasnt for me. No other game has stuck with me since. The game even has more spin offs and even a movie than any other FF game. I beg you guys to give this gem a chance. Unplayable? that is a matter of opinion indeed.

Give the game a chance? I played it through years ago, and yes it's a great game in terms of plot and characters, and it's an important game as one of the main pioneers in stepping from 2D to 3D (like Mario 64).

I still find it unplayable now, though.

Basically, FFVII is in dire need of that remake that appears to never actually be coming. No, they'd rather do the remakes of the older games that need it less.

Guess you had to have played it when it came out to truly appreciate it. It's like that magic carpet game you guys were talking about that one looks awful and still you play it, and it's got nothing on FF7 in terms of graphics, nostalgia can do wonderful things I guess. I don't feel the need to defend the game either since it does that perfectly fine by itself, but I was curious why you'd say it's hard to navigate, I've never heard that before and I can't for the life of me see how it would be, and that's obviously not just me since if not i'd probably have heard about it by now.

God Of War 3 is getting perfect scores from critics.

How many of you guys will be attending the midnight launch of FF13 at gamestop tonight?? I've got my trade in games ready , im super excited. I get off of work at eleven tonight so hopefully the line wont be too long. Both of my local gamestops will be opening at midnight, which is weird because they are not even a mile apart from each other LOL.

I have my copy of Final Fantasy XIII sitting right in front of me

But... I have to work... I can't play until tonight

Here in Ireland we don't have a mid night launch and gamestop opens up at 9:30am tommorow so i may go down and buy it.
No rush for me because this country is small so games are always availiable. lol

Ohh and I swapped my friend Sega Genesis Collection PS3 for Oblivion and he gave me 10 Euro($15) too.
He is also giving me Assasins Creed 2 once he gets it back form his other friend.

He really wanted this game....lol

I'm physically bouncing with excitement to play this game.

This is why I bought a PS3 after all.

@Firkraag: I'm pretty sure the problem was already explained earlier in the thread. Basically, the graphics are so muddled that it's difficult to see which parts of certain screens are traversable and which are not. I keep running into walls because I can't clearly tell that they ARE walls.

@odd: You're surprised by this? With a big game like FFXIII, ALL GameStops need to do midnight launches, or else they risk having customers cancel their reservations to go to the other stores! It may sound petty, but believe me...it happens.

I totally agree stuffy. So anyways I just came home from the launch party. Ive took a few pics, so i might post them in the ff13 thread.I also got this mini guide and the art work is just stunning. I think im in for a graphical treat.

Edit: This is the best looking FF by a long shot, everything i've have seen so far looks down right stunning. The battle system is great i love the paradigm system as well.
