The reasons I find MvsC3 more substantial than TvsC is because of the large amount event matches that keep getting added into the game, mission mode, the online is a little bit stronger, and there are more characters to use overall.

Apparently, the game has a reversible boxart cover similar to the New Play Control Series. Here's the alternate art: I personally prefer this one over the actual boxart due to the fact that it displays all of the added characters, where as the boxart that was originally shown only displays the first four characters that were announced.
I just hope some of these characters are unlock able. I like to take the effort of playing through the game to unlock characters, stages, etc.
Maybe Smash Bros. and even TvC spoiled me, but I think that's the best way to go about it. Sounds like these 12 characters are the only new in the game. Would have been awesome if there were 4 or 6 secret characters to unlock.
the complete lack of character animation totaly throws me off with MvcC3. It looks inredibly choppy and half assed. Plus the gameplay looks way too chaotic and button mashy for my tastes....And it's a shame considering it's boasting an awesome selection of fighters.
That was my exact problem with the game Waveboy. I liked the roster of characters but it was waaaaaay too much of a button masher for me. I just dont like those type of games cause there really is no skill to them at all.
