Topic: Is outer worlds as good as I've heard?

The announcement of outer worlds 2 has me thinking maybe i should check out the original game. It's been on my radar for a while now but i don't know if it's for me. It must be popular if they decided to make a sequel. I might have passed on it but now I'm interested again.

Opinions please?

I enjoyed it but bear in mind that the Switch port is very rough, with very cut down graphics, frame rate dips and long loading times, so not the best way to play it unless you've got no other options.

Anyway, if you like the idea of Fallout in space, but with a story and setting that's a heck of a lot smaller and more tightly focused than Starfield, it's well worth a look.

I have no idea what to think about the game. Unless I’m getting it mixed up people either praise the heck out of it or it’s the worst thing they have ever played lol. I too would like to know the comment consensus on the game.

I’ve been playing Outer Worlds on the Switch the past week. I’ve had the game for atleast 3 years, ginallly loaded it up and can say with confidence it’s a great game. It’s been patched up since the release and it’s cleaned up a lot of the port issues. It’s not the prettiest on Switch but it’s completely playable. The game is a lot of fun and has excellent writing, it’s a fun and cool space adventure. With the announcement of Outer Worlds 2 I’m very excited. I’m definitely a fan of the series now, I’d recommend a go for sure on Switch.

I wasn’t a fan personally. The combat is not good and repetitive and for me at least much of the dialogue was more trite than funny or intelligent. And I didn’t feel like the ending I got accomplished anything. It’s definitely an obsidian game through and through though. If you like their work then this game will be enjoyable but it was a miss for me. Inventory management was a bit of a mess as well.
