I'm not just talking about the PSPgo. The PSPgo is an experiment. It's Sony trying out the waters of a digital-only game system. I have no way of knowing if it will succeed or fail. I'm just excited about the prospect of seeing what it will be like.
Well i love Sony but good luck to them. if it can play Physical Copies of games aswell as Digital then I WILL BUY the system but if its Digital only....no thanks.

In any case, I'll be waiting to see how support goes for it. At the moment I'm only considering buying a second hand cheap PSP so I can download FF7 to it to build up my team while on lunch break at work.
I'm curious to see how the PSPgo does. I love the PSP system in general, so I'm sure I'll be happy with it, but Sony's made a lot of bonehead moves this generation, I'm not sure if this is the right move for them right now. But it should be a fun experiment just the same.

I love the PSP aswell. fantastic system. but alot of us gamers just do not want digital downloads only for systems. However do realise alot of people and RETAILERS are boycotting the PSP Go. I don't blame them. What if you worked at a retailer only to be thrown out of your job cuz digital downloads was the future? its disgraceful and i will not stand for it.

Oh I completely understand why some retailers are boycotting the system. The same reason Sam Goody was ticked when iTunes began taking over. Not good for business. And no doubt retailers will have to find other ways to make money off of video games as this move to a digital format takes place in the coming years.

It will not move. we cannot tell the future. But i can tell you damn well that i and many others will not buy any digital downloads.
It ain't gonna happen but it will be an alternititve to upcoming consoles heavily.

Well I respect your opinion, but I think most industry insiders know the move is coming. Now how quickly it takes over completely is unknown, but it's just more economical for game developers and publishers to use the digital distribution method, not to mention it makes it more readily available to consumers who don't want to get off their tail and go to a store to buy a game or movie. In truth it could be many years before we see things go completely digital, and who knows, by then there might be another method come of age.
And thanks for sticking around for the discussion. I gotta get back to Dragon Quest V. This review is a bit overdue.

Don't get me wrong it does have advantages....especially for lazy people But it takes me ages to download updates on my connection. if we have games digital only....my patience will not wait for the downloads.... Also ok for movies i would download but...games....i want to have my manuals and box physical.
Anyway thanks for having this convo and sorry for getting rounded up about it,but i just cannot imagine digital downloads only.... Imgaine downloading 15GB??....(i say 15Gb becuase future console games will be graphically better and will require way more memory) anyway goodnight

ima gonna get an ipod cuz i saved up enogh My friend keeps sayen hes gonna get a psp go but he has only nintendo stuff and his only reason is"it slides and looks cool" lol
hahaha Sean007s, most of the post don't care about UMD's and prefer digital copy's. I'm thinking it's just a matter of not wanting to pay 250 for it plus tax. I bet if it was the same price as the 3000 you will get it over the 3000, only an idiot trying to keep the UMD's will get the 3000. You can download the same game over and over again it's not like you will have one time download of the game and if you erase it you will have to pay again. Again get over the UMD's already, reading a game off the HDD is much faster and more reliable than having a UMD that can be misplace.
Also I just read your latest post and I KNEW IT. You probably had a slow connection only a person with a slow connection will not want digital. Nuff said. BTW I downloaded 21 GB's in one day I download 4.3 gb in less than an hour , so downloading a 600 mb game is nothing to me.

Thats a reason i don't want Digital. however more people here said they want a PSP 3000 than a PSP go. explain? Of course. anyway see ya.

wait is it true that ou get a free copy of gran turmiso when you get your go. That means that the go is only 40 dollars expensive than what a psp 3000 would be but is 60 dollars cheaper if the go has the 16 gb memory stick the go is a much better deal and it should be even 275

Yes, apparently you can get a free download of Gran Turismo for your new PSP Go system if you register it before October 10th but unfortunately this offer does not apply to people in the United States. I think that I am going to pass on the PSP Go and get that new PSP 3000 Gran Turismo Bundle instead. It comes with a mystic silver PSP 3000 system, the new Gran Turismo PSP game and a 2GB memory stick all for $199. I like the idea of the PSP Go but it is just way too expensive for me. If I did buy the Go, I wouldn't have any money left over to get any games for it. Plus, I already have too many games on other systems that I need to save up for. Unless Sony comes out with a really awesome incentive program for the PSP Go in the next few days I will have to say no to the Go.
As a hardcore NIntendo fan being burned with the DSi, I'm actually really temped to get a PSP Go, but I'm not stupid. I'm going to wait and see how it unfolds. The price is rather huge for what it is (obviously it's an expensive piece of tech).
But I could see the PSP Go being a really good machine for people who DON'T have a PSP unless they solve the UMD thing.
But I am tempted since Nintendo let me down with the DSi and DSiWare. Skill keeping it though cause third parties make really good DS games. lol

No, it takes forever to download updates from PlayStation Network, no matter the connection speed... take a look at Steam, it works like a charm, with top speed downloads (except for games on launch-day, that's why they have pre-loads for most games, a couple of days before actual release date)... it usually maxes out my download speed, even faster than most downloads (290 KB/s... My ISP says my connection is a 2000 Kbps (250 KB/s) one lol)... so,if the store servers are fast and reliable enough, it won't be a problem...
