Well I can say after an hour of personal play-time with the game, that while yes it is the same basic gameplay as 3, the actual sense of the game is completely different, while in 3 you felt sort of alone and the world had little hope, with every time you turn around seeing a mutation or wreckage, this one takes quite a different approach. Theres more people around and gasp there is electricity! It all actually seems very possible, and makes a lot of sense, but I'm not that far in. However one more thing is that in this one, your not fighting to restore life like it was, your just fighting to survive (and its not particularly hard). I'll post more later, see ya.

Interesting, fighting to survive, eh... What does that entail? That there something threatening your life and you must fight to find a way to survive...?

A: Two, one to hold the light bulb, the other to rotate the universe.

Well a lot of reviews are now out for this game. Most of them comment on the amount of bugs it has,not good!! Gonna wait till xmas for this now when I'll have more time and hopefully they will have patched the bugs.Still can't wait to play it though it looks fantastic.
Anyone gonna play on Hardcore mode? Sounds tough!!

What's this bit for again?

You mean using the same crappy engine didn`t eliminate any bugs?!!

I've put more time into it now and 5 hours in and I have had only one problem and that was the game crashed (Which I think was my PS3 because it has happened before on other games, everything remains fine afterwards though) and a flicker once, everything for me has worked fine, and I have continued to have a great time. As far as survival goes, I mean where as in Fallout 3, it was covered with actual buildings pretty much, in New Vegas it is mostly the Interstate with a couple of blown up buildings. Sure there are buildings and towns still (Though I haven't even attempted to go near Vegas itself), but it seems much more bear than the DC area, and it fits. Also as simple as electricity may be, it ends up working towards the favor of the game. The casino's are nicely made, the small ones in Primm (Town) are the only ones I have seen, but there was obviously a lot of detail and work put into them. Overall my experience is still an A+.

I was able to get the last Collector's Edition from Best Buy on Tuesday though I haven't had enough time to really get into the game. I was hoping to do that today but my plans just got ruined. I was really looking forward to some Vegas Wasteland action. Oh well, I'll give it a go later today or tomorrow hopefully.

@SilentJ: Lucky, my cousin went looking for the CE at about 5 different stores on launch day and couldn't find it, so he had to settle for just the game...

Sucks that your cousin couldn't find a CE. I normally preorder these things but I waited too long so I had to track one down. Luckily, I found one at the second Best Buy I checked. CE or not, the game should be awesome!

I was really hoping that the developers would improve the engine and fix the bugs that were in Fallout 3, as some of the bugs were almost game-killers [such as the you are out-numbered bug, if anyone knows what I'm talking about].

I will also need a new hardrive for my PS3 if i want to even want to buy this game, since New Vegas requires a whopping 5 GB installation. Yeah, I'm running out of room on my PS3's hardrive even though transferring all my PSOne Classics to my PS3 made some space. Maybe I better find my old copy of Fallout 3 and see if I can finish that first. But, I am still intrested in New Vegas, it looks awesome.

I had to get my collectors edition on ebay i had to pay 95$. NO stores in Jackson,MS had one and we have ALOT of stores in Jackson. I could already be playing the game, but i am not going to settle for just the game this time around. This is the first game i have ever bought a collectors edition for though, even though i feel ripped off im glad i invested in it.

@SilentJ: It's his fault for waiting until the last second instead of pre-ordering, like I told him to...

From what I`ve read, the PC version is the one to get. Having better graphics, load times, and a lot fewer bugs. Anyone not sure to buy it, I would wait to make sure that some of the more major bugs get sorted out. It seems that the 360 version has a corrupted save issue.

After spending 22 Hours on this game, all I can say is........ BUY IT!!!

I guess this game must've consumed the rest of the people on here that bought it...

It and homework has consumed most of my free time. The game is excellent and I'm not even on the real Vegas strip yet, there is a ton of side quests that I keep doing that are awesome and fun. The game will last you hours, no doubt about it. As for glitches, yes they are there, occasionally VATS doesn't always come up as fast as you wanted (or at all in rare cases), enemies sometimes get stuck like idiots, and yes the game has crashed on me once, but overall my experience with the game has been nothing but fun. A fair amount of warning though, be careful when your exploring the Mojave, there is a ton of crap waiting to kill someone or something and chances your the first thing they'll find, if your short on ammo and weak, stick to the main road, you'll be dead quickly if you try to explore the world while being a pathetic weakling. Always keep stimpacks and some spare weapons on you. My only frustration is running into deathclaws (SCARY AS HELL )

I'm getting Fallout 3 being delivered to me atm, and I'll see what that it like before I get this game. But the setting seems pretty cool.

For the past two and a half weeks I was sucked into the world of New Vegas and—after a grueling 143-hour play-through—finally beat it with the Wild Card ending and made New Vegas independent. What a fantastic game. I did just about everything that could be done, and a large chunk of it was after I'd already hit the level cap (the one in the vanilla game). Hopefully next time I visit my cousin Dead Money will already be out on Steam so I can play through that...

I don't know how I played through most of Fallout 3 without any mods; it greatly enhances the experience. My cousin and I installed quite a bit of mods for this game (I installed the most), though the majority were equipment-based ones, at least mine were, anyway. I need to get myself a higher end PC and a copy of this game, because I still want to play...

Just finished the game this past weekend.

Mr. House became not only my favorite character in any Fallout game (an achievement in itself), but is probably one of my all-time favorite video game characters period.

Absolutely amazing.

Of course, I finished it along his questline, which means I spent more time with him than folks who completed the game some alternate way...but wow.

I have my issues with New Vegas (the game), but there are a handful of things that it did exactly right.

Also, Dead Money DLC was brilliant, brilliant, brilliant.
