Topic: EA has high hopes...

Ghosts is quite killing Battlefield 4. With new perks in new categories, soldier creation, which is new, leaning around corners, and of course here's a bit of gameplay:

They may challenge other companies to hopeless franchise wars, but they make some good games. A few minutes ago I was playing Battlefield 3. And yes, I was enjoying it.
I think of Battlefield to not only be a franchise of FPS games, but simulation as well. This is also meant to be a battlefield simulation game, to relate to real wars. And why they are challenging Treyarch I don't know. Taking on an FPS series is a bit too far. To be honest, I'm a bit confused why they're telling everyone they want to "dethrone" Call of Duty when they're the ruler of simulation games.

Does Destiny count? Destiny and Titanfall look to be the FPS games from those 2 that are trying to do something different.

Only time will tell, but I think Activision is doing alot better.

EA just needs to get their sports games right, Mirror's Edge, and maybe figure out how to make Dead Space cool again.

I don't get WTF EA is doing. Their new FIFA game on 3DS should have basically been the Xbox 360 version, minus the online features Xbox Live has(besides random matching).

EDIT: BTW, COD looks better than BF based on those videos above. I think EA potential to pass up Activision, but they can't even match them as of now.

Wow. EA REALLY needs to focus. I guess their dream of overthrowing Call of Duty puts their head in the clouds and screwing up everywhere.

I have a large Dislike for EA the only game i care for is Need for speed which is not coming to the wii u so that does not help me like them better and my sims not the sims(to much dlc packs that was perposly left out of the final game)..you know what here a pic of which sims

All the while Destiny looms on the horizon. That's the game EA should be focusing on 'beating,' not CoD. Wow, you're just going to give us more of the same old, same old EA, thanks a lot. I'll say this for CoD, while it's not a favorite franchise of mine, at least I have fun when I do a new game in the series and it usually has a decent enough single player campaign. That's far more than can be said about Battlefield.

Though i have almost never played cod(omg i hate violence and that was a few min of playing)i have played battlefield and they are both really the same game...i would rather buy Cod because it now has the cutest dog

That's mostly difference and play styles. Call of Duty is more automatic fun, while Battlefield has a larger learning curve. Still Titanfall is coming so EA should be good. That and Destiny will duke it out for the new hotness mantle.

Yeah, if I was get invested in an FPS, I'd rather do it with Battlefield since it always seemed like the meatier game. I can't really get into either series anymore, though...

I tend to play the Halo series over either other. The Sci-fi setting and ongoing story do much more for me tha either of the military shooters.

I think to take down EA nintendo needs to make a muiltyplayer FPS(Metroid...) because almost everyone else made one so its nintendo turn

It wouldn't necessarily take down EA, but I've always wanted Nintendo to make a faster pace First Person Shooter. I always wondered would we have seen more Perfect Dark games if Nintendo would have still had Rare's IP.

With that said I usually play the first party FPS and I wouldn't mind Nintendo doing more with Metroid. I'm guessing from recent Miyamoto comments its going to be Retro's next project.

I think the sci-fi FPS have more of a chance. If Nintendo were to make a FPS(more likely 3rd person), I'd say they would use Starfox to that.

I can image a pretty epic battle could happen if Nintendo used the Starfox Assault formula and took it online with quite a few people.
What I mean by Starfox Assault formula, BTW, is being able to fight on foot, in an Arwing, or drive a Landmaster.
Then, just make the levels gigantic, overhaul the graphics, and make it 32 players online.

Not really sure how all this would work, but it seems like it would be more akin to Gears of War with vehicles.

They could probably take Metroid to online multplayer, but there aren't really any characters besides the ones in Hunters, which were basically created only for that game.

MPH was definitely the portable Halo of 2005, IMO.

Oh of course since a new IP or more FPS like Metroid would be aimed at Halo and Killzone. I think Other M killed a lot of the Goodwill for Metroid but if it were announced that Retro was working on it, a lot of people would get excited. I think a single player Metroid that takes place after fusion building on corruption and Hunter style multiplayer would go over well.

I really liked the productions and overall style of the third prime game. I do Understand that isolation is apart of Metroid but that gets so boring after a while and I like seeing the universe and having big action every once in a while.

I hope for the next Metroid game they go similar to that and Other M and its not just Samus alone with her throughts. Much prefer when a game goes ambitious with its story. I even like Other M because of its focus on showing Samus being more than just a lone bounty Hunter.

On the note of all three first party FP series can co-exist since each of them are pretty different thematically

A FPS si-fi metroid game would be awesome...maybe bounty hunters vs infected solders(by metroids)...it would be cool and if its rated T i would buy it day one

Despite the series being called Metroid I kind of hope that the titular species doesn't show up to often and the next game is after Fusion. One of the things I liked most about Halo 4 is the only time the Halo's are explicably mentioned are when you have to go to research base near one. Not really sure to take the story but I'd like to see the Chozo fleshed out a bit.
