Sorta related, has anyone tried a VR experience before?
I’ve been tasked with organising a day out at a zombie shooting VR thingy but I’ve got no idea which one is better than the other one as there’s seems to be loads on London.
I haven't enjoyed being in an arcade since the mid 90's. Once Street Fighter II and Mortal Kombat II were available on SNES and Genesis, that was the day arcades died in my eyes. The most recent time I played an arcade game was at a Dave & Buster's for one of my god daughter's birthday parties. I think it's sort of serendipitous how my first arcade experience was Ms. Pac-Man and my last arcade experience was Pac-Man Battle Royale.
Yo, long time I didn't post any comment on Arcade Games Thread.
I want to say after 20 years playing DDR since late 2003 and playing Rhythm only games for 20 years, during year 2024 I expanded my gaming Arcade experience from other Arcade games with different genre such as G'SPIRIT TENNIS (Tennis motion play Arcade) , Mario Kart GP DX, but my favorite Arcade games are Rhythm based machines as I'm good in Rhythm as long not using too many fingers to tap the buttons like Beatmania IIDX or Pop'n Music as their Arcade machines are great but I'm really suck to play Rhythm games with more than 7 buttons to press with fingers since I have no basic in playing piano.
Hoosha...!
Long time I didn't post anything about Arcade games.
Recently there was Luigi's Mansion Arcade at my local Arcade Playtopia, Tunjungan Plaza 4 since 25 April 2025.
I have never expected Luigi's Mansion Arcade in my hometown Surabaya. 😃
It was 10 years ago when Luigi's Mansion Arcade was released in Japan.
Here is the picture of the machine at Playtopia Tunjungan Plaza 4.
This afternoon I played until all the Stages cleared despite the gameplay was pretty hard as i only have 2 lives from the machine and if you want to continue through the storyline, you need a lot of credits to play.
And I spent 21 credits just to beat the whole game of Luigi's Mansion Arcade as I lost the lives by 21 times and it took approximately 1 hour to finish the whole game (Level Easy, Medium and Hard). 🤕
And the vacuum cleaner gun was quite heavy to handle.
My fingers felt stiff after very long time using through the game.
Btw, each Stages have their Bosses from Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon.
Easy Stage = The Brain
Medium Stage = Gobber, The Three Sisters
Hard Stage = King Boo
Yesterday I had a go at DDR for the first time in an arcade. It was very fun and more generously priced than I expected - £2 for three songs + the tutorial, whereas I think the Mario Kart arcade game for example is £2 for one race. I did fail the last song pretty quickly though because I tried going on a higher difficulty despite having no experience of the game.
Thank you Nintendo for giving us Donkey Kong Jr Math on Nintendo Music
@Anti-Matter It was a new one, DDR A20 Plus. I've been in that arcade a couple of times before but hadn't noticed that machine so it may have only just been installed there, not sure.
Thank you Nintendo for giving us Donkey Kong Jr Math on Nintendo Music
@Dogorilla
DDR A20 PLUS have the Best BGM theme during registering the e-amusement card, the Result and the End of Play.
I wish I can play newer DDR machines like DDR A20+ or DDR A3 at my local Arcade as they still never bring the new DDR machine to Surabaya but the other cities like Jakarta or Bandung have the newest DDR WORLD. 😟
Yosh...!
I shared again another Arcade machines I played at Playtopia Tunjungan Plaza 4.
Knocking Alliance
Raccoon Rampage
They are ticket reward Arcade machine with skills so I tried to play those machines and I enjoy the Knocking Alliance as the gameplay was really easy but challenging. All the minigames are touch screen based with toy hammer as the touch stylus. The minigames are were varied from fixing the objects position, mash the veggies, mash the fruits, type the number of calculator, find the right shape, etc.
I found I can exceeding the scores by using two toy hammer and quickly mash all the vegetables / fruits from those minigames.
It was too easy but also very tiring because I have to tap with two toy hammer quickly to mash all the vegetables / fruits.
And I still get around 24 - 27 tickets as the reward, but man... my arms felt exhausted. 😆
And for Raccoon Rampage, I found it was recently new hype at my local Arcade. I found another similar water shooter Arcade with different targets to shoot such as raccoon, chickens, dinosaurs, zombies, etc.
The gameplay of Raccon Rampage was fair easy but I still easily get lost 5 lives for not quickly shoot the projectile attacks.
I could continue the whole game until 4 different places, but I decided to stop once I lost all my lives as I wasn't ready yet to use multiple credits to beat all 4 stages and got high scores.
The ticket I got from playing Raccoon Rampage was not as many as Knocking Alliance but I tried a new experience of skill based Arcade machine.
I dont have many Arcade Machines near where I live but I am currently on holiday at the coast (a place called Skegness) once more discovering Arcade Machines as I go.... In the past I've recording myself playing them but as I'd rather just play and enjoy them instead I'm recording there attract modes and might even review a few.
If people are interested there's lots of older videos of me playing and recording them too
Yo, question for all of you guys.
Who have ever played games at Arcade center?
What kind of Arcade games you have ever played and which one is your favorite?
My favorite all the time is Dance Dance Revolution Arcade series.
