Alright I got my time down to 1:49!! I just needed a good strategy and the right character/vehicle combo.

I love this one it's crazy. Was so chuffed to get that 1:49.1 to edge Mange, then he goes and gets a 1:48!

edit: I know I can do better. I've had a few attempts where I'm a low 36 on lap 1 & 2, only to throw myself off on lap 3. Aaaagh!
