Topic: (WW) MKW Mar/Apr Competition

I'm back from my painfully short excursion, maybe I can slip in front of Hoffkage in the time I've got left, but I'll never get under 30 seconds.
@Mario Party Fan: Is that really a good reason to stop racing? I mean, racing's the whole point of the game! (I've actually never been disconnected in the middle of a race, weird.)

I didn't mean to permanently stop racing I only meant to stop racing at that time. And once I get D/C'ed once, it happens just about every race until I restart the computer as I use the Nintendo Wi-Fi USB Connector to connect online. I know it is sucky to a lot of people but it usually works fine for me.

Probably gonna miss the start of the next compo, and not gonna improve my time on this one. Got a lot of coursework to get finished this week, so that's gotta take priority.

Sucks that the connector is dodgy for you, I don't actually use one and I never had a problem with my online.

I've finally cracked the minute barrier. 59.082 will probably be my final time though. Well done to those under 30 seconds; I can see how it can be done, but I just can't string the moves together.

I have resigned myself to 'nul points'. Congrats to all under a minute, and super respect to those under 30 seconds.

I'm looking forward to the next one already.......

Well. Haven't play much since I got that, I think (played some a little while ago). I'm gonna try to beat my score and "possibly" get a 20 sec, though 23 might be more likely.
I saw the world champ have like 15 something. He must have that figured down to a science.

@Machu: Ah man...Come on. You can beat that score of yours. I'll tell you if you want to do real good get the first 3 down quickly in at least one shot each (just let them get close to the edge.) Aim for around 15 secs. (if I go too slow on the first 2 or 3rd, I just restart at this point, mostly.
Also I pay attention to how they move so that I can figure about where they're going to be before they get there (It can be done. Definatly on the first 2. The 3rd heads to the edge (right or left, depending on where your at, I think. I haven't completely figure out the perfect way to do the end 3. When I knock off the 3rd, if i still have one or 2 turbos I've tried to time them so that I can hit a powerup on the way(or right after to hitting one of the tops when they first come down to save time.
Thought it'd be easier to tell you this here instead of chat. I hope you try and this actually helps you. Course everyone else can see this too, so you might not be the only one that MIGHT benefit from this. _{Let's just hope I don't screw myself over doing this.}

Thanks for the advice LTG But it's over now, and I'm so very glad. I like racing, heading in some sort of direction, I lost patience with this one very quickly, but again thanks for the advice. I can't believe you've almost managed to track all their movements, that's pretty h-core dude.

So the competition is over, and we are half way through our little challenge. A day or two before the start of the next I shall post an updated league table, which should be very interesting viewing. About the next one, I never thought I'd see mushrooms on the beach!

@Machu: Thanks. I was trying to do better till around 1 something in the morning and said heck with it because I had to get sone sleep. I don't know how those guys got 15 and 16 unless it was dishonest. I think the fastest I did on the first 3 was about 12 seconds. I think I had five down by 21,22 possibly(somewhere around there maybe. Not completely sure. I just know that i thought if i got that last one close that i would have improved. Too bad the last one wasn't close enough. I might had mad a better score.
I thought it might be possible to get a few more seconds off because of the 15 and 16 sec records. (Pretty much wasted my time on it, but it was cool when i was figuring things out. )

Ooh, next one should be good. Looks really easy to fall off.
I know what you mean Machu, racing is what us Mario Karters are best at (well, most of us...) so they caught some of us with our pants down. It's hard to believe how far behind we are from the world record. (except LTG )
