@edgedino: Fair challenge means you put every obstacle for player to see. Unfair aka trolly challenge means you use hidden blocks and offscreen stuff to challenge player. Also spamming with magikoopas is not challenge, it is rng, which will screw player over, if he is unlucky.
I know, it's been a while since I actually finished and uploaded a level. The thing is just - I wanted to figure out what people like. So I tried and I tried and I just couldn't get a cohesive level. Eventually, I said screw it, I just throw whatever I like up there and hope it sticks. So I proudly present to you my latest level: Towering Over The Goomba Towers! As the name implies, you have to jump over wide gaps with the help of a tower of Goombas. However, these towers can get a bit too big sometimes - or are simply missing. Find your way around the many towers of Goombas!
Note: This level includes a Checkpoint Password System. I saw it the other day over at Reddit. And yes, I know we are getting normal checkpoint flags in about a week but I implemented it nonetheless. So what you gotta do is find a code (hint, it's below the warp pipe that leads to the underground portion of the level). Remember that code, you're gonna need it. Should you die now, you just have enter the warp pipe to the left of the starting point to enter the password system. Put the code into the machinery by jumping against the right Note Blocks and activate the P-Switch to the right. If you entered the correct code, a Bob-Omb will soon fall down and open the way to the door to the right. I'll be replacing the system with a normal flag once the updates up.

I've tried to make a level that on its own is pretty straight forward, with a couple of secrets, to match a standard Mario experience. But for expert players there's a speed run route that can be completed in 19 seconds. If you tell me on here you've tried my level I'll give yours a go. I always play a level of a player that stars me too.
@ajmayhew: Thanks a million, man. Thanks to you and two other lovely people, I've finally reached my second milestone of 50 stars, meaning I now have the ability to upload up to 20 courses!
Yeah, in hindsight, it probably wasn't a good idea. The other guys who visited the level thus far apparently didn't notice or just didn't wanna go the easy route, though (the level got around a 23% clear rate last time I checked). I'll edit the level once the update's up next week as I wanna replace my password system with a normal checkpoint flag. When I do, I'll get rid of the shortcut, too.
Plus, I am going to return to the concept another time, this time harder and longer. I made it shorter this time as I felt more people could clear a shorter level and hopefully like the idea (as I've been mere two stars away from 50 stars for a LONG time now). I consider doing so a success although I personally prefer longer, more challenging levels.
By the way, and sorry to bother you about this, but I've asked many people already and never got an answer: When you delete a level, may it be to edit and reupload it or to replace it with another level, will you lose the stars you've earned from the deleted course?

@GoldenGamer88: Not a problem, so many people seem so stingy with stars, yours definitely deserved one.
If you delete a level you keep the stars from it on your player record, so feel free to delete edit and reupload. The newly uploaded course won't have any comments or stars though.
Did you get a chance to play through one of my levels?
@sjmartin: Choose your Zelda is very good. My one major nitpick is that I'd have liked a way to go back and try another level without going to the flag.
@ajmayhew: Thank you very much!
I thought about designing it in a way that forced you to play through more than 1 or all sections, but I decided to do a short level with replayability instead. But if this is received well, once their are checkpoints, I may go back and design another one where you have to go through all 4 to get to the end. (PS. I played and starred a few more of your levels last night.)
Hello! I made a couple automatic levels showcasing some of the Nintendo characters. First time I tried to make these so any feedback is appreciated. This is the first of three and shows off about 33 different characters with themes for some included.
@sjmartin: I wasn't suggesting forcing play through all four, just a door at the end that allows you to go back to the start (like the one I used in Wiggler's World - I think you played that). More from the point of view of 100 Mario Maker players who may want to play all four, but you leave the choice up to them.
Thanks for playing my other levels, I'm not at home at the moment so can't check to see what you've played, but I hope you enjoyed them.
I played Donut Dilemma the other day, I was a bit stingy and didn't star it. It's well designed, but I just didn't enjoy it - I think I lack patience. So don't feel like you have to star all of mine when you play them - I'd rather constructive feedback. I was surprised I wasn't already following you, especially after your DK level, so I'll be putting that right when I get back
@ajmayhew: Sorry it took so long to get back to you. Yesterday was a busy day, as Thursdays usually are for me. Anyway, I really enjoyed your levels, especially you're early ones. They're really clever and deserving of more stars. I think my favorite out of the bunch was 3*3*3 - Escape the Cube because you really had to go through all the doors to get the special item that enables you to get to the next door. I found Escape the Rooms a bit frustrating (especially the last bit with the music blocks - I don't know, I just can't jump on springs or music blocks for my life!) but hey, that's what Ghost Houses are supposed to be - tricky, a bit frustrating but clever all the way through. I can't really complain about any of your levels but I'd love to see Checkpoint Flags in 3*3*3, 3 Secrets and Escape the Cube. All that's left for me is to applaud you for your ideas and clever level design.
I don't know have you checked out my other levels yet? Most of them are longer, harder and some might say more unfair. But I recommend you see for yourself. Most of them will get updated with Checkpoint Flags and some other changes to make them a bit easier once the updates up next week.
Last night, I went back and did some editing on two levels. One on a level I had never uploaded. The other on one I had uploaded but deleted. I think the end result was worth it on both.
@GoldenGamer88: Wow, thanks for going in and trying so many of my levels, and for all the lovely feedback. I do plan to put checkpoint flags into both of them when I get the update. I was wondering what the issue with Wiggler's World was - obviously I'm not expecting you to star a level you don't like, but I was wondering if you'd mind letting me know what it was you didn't like.
I really enjoyed your Wiggler level, though getting over some of those jumping Wigglers was a little bit tricky. I seemed to have more trouble with P-Switch panic than most, I ended up carrying some P-blocks, was that the intention? Pits second uprising was chaos, I might have slightly cheated by flying over all of the action in the cloud part of the level, but it was definitely fun.
I'm quite proud to be only the second person to finish Fiery Frenzy. I didn't star it though, because there were a few things I didn't like. Quite a lot of the jumps were pretty blind leaps of faith. I never managed one without getting hit by a fireball, did you ever make it through the level without getting hit? In my opinion that should always be possible, and I'm not sure it was here. The mushroom releases were clever, but it was extremely frustrating if I didn't quite get to one on time. Bowser's locked out has an unavoidable instant death if you choose the wrong door and I never star levels that do that.
Anyway, I hope that's okay, I always like to find out why people don't like my levels (there's problems in 3x3x3 and Escape the Room that have been pointed out to me that I will be editing when I re-upload with checkpoints), so I hope you don't mind the feedback. I'm following you now, so I'll have plenty of opportunity to try your other levels.
@ajmayhew: Thanks for playing and staring some of my levels. And no, I'm always happy about constructive feedback.
There is no problem with Wiggler's World. It was just that I played it last and didn't have more time at that point to play. But now, I did play Wiggler's World and I have to say that I really like the 4 levels in 1 idea. This makes the levels a bit short, though, but what really stuck out to me was the first room of the Boss level. The first time I played it yesterday, I was like "Wha? Why did that Bob-Omb explode now?" and now I got it - very clever, I've got to say. But my favorite level of the four is certainly the second one. I don't know, I just really like the idea of "getting help" from an enemy. I'm following you, too, now.
Yeah, I also pick up P-Switchs by accident because I am usually always holding down the Y button when I play. And no, this wasn't intentional. Would it help putting them into ? Blocks? Maybe I'll do so when I reupload it with checkpoints (as I am planning on doing with all of my levels). I really can't stand Pit's Second Uprising. As you said, it's utter chaos. It's just not a good level design and I have alwyays been on the fence of deleting it but I obviously have to do so. It'll stay up for now but it's the first one I'll delete when I need to.
Congratulations on finishing Fiery Frenzy (oh, and you're the third one, I myself am the first one, of course )! I can understand that you didn't star it, I wouldn't either, lol. Back then, I thought I had to make really super hard levels in order to please the super hardcore Mario players - and super hard turned into plain unfair! I can guarantee you that this level will get the most updates and become a lot more fair and easier (less fire bubbles etc.). And I already have the sequel to Fiery Frenzy called "Piranha Plague in Frozen Fort" almost done. It's focusing on spin-jumping off Winged Piranha Plants as well as climbing on vines. It was supposed to be the grand celebration level when I hit 50 stars. I even rebuild it slightly to feature the Password System I used in Towering Over The Goomba Towers - and then the update announcement came along and I get to rebuild it a second time. Well, I am not 100% happy with the level anyways so this should give me enough time to make it better and a bit easier.
Anyway, you can expect my Halloween Level "Mad Man's Mansion" this evening.

A stage with no power ups where you must thoughtfully use both Yoshi and Koopa shells in order to clear a path and get to the goal (no Yoshi abuse allowed here). I spent five days fine tuning the design of this course so any feedback would be appreciated.
