I liked the fashion gear in XCX. I still went for awesome armor looks most of the time, but I do like everything to match.
@link3710 Probably not, but I'd rather experience everything in BotW, not just in terms of plot, with as little of it spoiled as possible. I want to go into it with an open mind and encounter the sense of why it's one of the GOAT selections on many lists out there.
Another long trailer. So much stuff here. In Japanese though. It's looking insanely good in motion. This even has some new camera shots that aren't in the original game. I wonder if they're adding new cinematic views, or maybe it's just for the trailer.
Was so anxious waiting, I actually installed CEMU and started playing Xenoblade Chronicles X again with high texture graphics pack in full HD. Oh my gosh I love this game so much. It’s definitely my favorite in the series.
These up-close cutscene parts of the game are definitely looking to be one of the biggest improvements. I was unsure about the character models at first, but I've warmed to them quite a lot.
@Ralizah I think that many people lack the ability to properly observe and appreciate something, they just "see". I'm aware that may sound pretentious, but it just surprises me how I can check a Youtube video and read something like " (insert guy's name) looks EXACTLY like (insert other guy's name)" followed by "OH MY GOD SO TRUE!!!"" and a hundreds comments saying the same. Then, I check it and the resemblance ends up being that both persons have a somewhat similar hairstyle and a mustache. Almost completely different nose, eye size, chin, etc. Same with art styles, music, etc.
XC1 and XCX were known for particularly muddy character model graphics (not designs). They fixed this in XC2, and I'm glad they are carrying it onto the DE.
Currently Playing: Steamworld Heist, The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, Tales of Graces F
Other people see "anime faces." I just see character designs that don't look like they were ripped from a PS2 game.
I always saw XC1 style as being half way between realism and anime. This new version has maybe taken it another 10% towards anime. Definitely much less than XC2 though.
@iKhan Woops, I did say designs when I meant models, didn't I?
I thought XCX characters generally looked OK. A bit doll-like. The faces are massively improved from the original. Definitely not as expressive as the ones in 2/DE, though.
@Dezzy The DE designs might be a bit further along the scale of stylization (primarily for Shulk), although I do think this is probably close to what we would have gotten in the original if the designers were working with the Nintendo Switch hardware.
Currently Playing: Resident Evil Village: Gold Edition
Possibly yes. I also think there's a lot of the copycat tendency within Nintendo developer studios, where they'll share graphical styles a lot between themselves.
If you look at BotW, Pokemon, XC2, Ring Fit and now XC1, they all use incredibly similar visual styles to one another (I'm talking primarily the cell-shaded characters)
I bet a lot of that is just essentially developers saying "well it worked pretty well in Zelda, we'll do the same."
The fact that I'm such a completionist is killing any chance i have of playing all the way through this game. I keep starting and stopping due to the massive stuff there is to do and collect. It's all too much! I thought link to the past was huge as a kid. Now i can beat it in a day or two.

So how long is the base game in comparison to XC2? Trying to decide whether to get both physical and digital or just physical for Wonderful 101 given the physical delay to late June/early July.
