@VoidofLight the end game quests in all xenoblade games are better suited for new game plus runs where you keep leveling through the game (specialy new areas xp)

Ah Alright. Also, how do you spoiler tag something here, since I want to see if a certain few quests are also under that, as I'm under-leveled for those as well, and wish to do them for the items you get.

@VoidofLight [ spoiler ]Hidden text here[ /spoiler ]. Only without the spaces between "spoiler" and the brackets.

Kinda like this.

@VoidofLight You need the brackets, and the / only needs to be included on the ending tag. Quote my previous post where I included some spoilered text to see the exact use.

The quests I wanted to tackle are the replica monado quests, since those are Shulk's ultimate weapon. However, they require that I fight really high-leveled enemies.

@RR529 It's now an in-joke for Xenoblade players as far as I know; why else would there be a LV81 gigantic two (or four) armed bipedal simian creature, roaming a low level grassy plain area, attacking on sight, in all three Xenoblade Chronicles games? Not to mention that all three enemies have the word "territorial" in their name; and that only Xenoblade X's equivalent ISN'T called "Territorial Rotbart" but rather "Hayreddin the Territorial". I love the references, and honestly it's a great find, if a bit easy.

Just cleared the main story tonight! I did most (all?) of the late game quests so I absolutely smashed through the final few story bosses without any threat, but it was satisfying to feel so powerful. Still processing the story, but it was a satisfying end.

Still a few weeks to go until 3D World releases, so I'm probably going to jump right into the Future Connected expansion.

My party was so high leveled during the endgame that I could have skipped some of the lesser fights if I'd wanted. I did most of the side quests in the game minus a few timed ones I accidentally missed and a few endgame world bosses.

Future Connected is decent overall, and is definitely worth playing if only to get some closure regarding some characters. The main game does outrank it though.

Everyone here, I've binged the Future Connected soundtrack and have some scientific discoveries.

The base battle theme in FC is an absolute banger, and it's a travesty that we can't hear the entire thing because of how short normal battles in the game are. The bass line is the stuff of legends, and that wah-wah electric guitar is beauty. And the flute is perfect too, and adds a groove to the song.

The Fog Beast theme is one of the greatest things to grace my ears, and sounds like a pianist and a violinist are having a very intense duel. The electric guitar shreds, and I love the entire feel of the song. Somehow ACE made a piano work in a fast-paced rock song.

The Bionis Shoulder theme is tranquil, and serene. Just absolutely peaceful, and it's really good for studying to. Day or night doesn't matter, because it'll still stick in your head, and calm you down.

Thoughts?

So uh, do the replica monado quests count as post-game quests too?

"It is fate. Many have tried, yet none have ever managed to escape it's flow."

jedgamesguy

@VoidofLight Well strictly speaking nothing is post game because if you beat the game and go back to the file you'll be at the Gondorl Cathedral at Prison Island. But on the other hand the Prison Island map is complete, with the Prison Terrace landmark on your map so there's an overlap there. Those quests are not post-game because they're unlocked after Mechonis Core, which is when the Superbosses also appear, and the Bionis opens up. So they're part of the main game continuity if that's what you mean.

@theJGG I meant more as, are they meant to be beaten after I beat the game.. mainly since they're way too high leveled for me, without me spending hours grinding.

"It is fate. Many have tried, yet none have ever managed to escape it's flow."

jedgamesguy

@VoidofLight Some are. Some contain LV99 enemies that can't be beaten without breaking the game like a pro... but some items can be acquired before having to beat the game, I think you can make one or two without excessive grinding.

@theJGG Ah alright! Thanks!

@VoidofLight

I did all of those replica monado quests before the final boss. You'll be way over-leveled for the final boss, but that didn't bother me. I just don't like to go back into a game after seeing the credits roll.

It's dangerous to go alone! Stay at home.

@VoidofLight, what level are you?

There are a number of post Mechonis Core quests & Colony 6 upgrades that have you going up against level 70-something enemies.

An good one should be available at Frontier Village, if you managed to complete all the Red Pollen Orb related missions earlier, where you face off against a level 78 enemy which rewards a ton of EXP & gives you an EXP Up VI gem.

The game will tell you when you absolutely can't go back, so feel free to go to the next story area if you feel you need to be a little stronger before taking on the late game quests.

I've been playing the Future Connected expansion in XC:DE, and while I know the area it takes place in (the Bionis' Shoulder) was originally intended for the original game, I wonder how much of it's design was complete at the time (or if it was ultimately expanded for FC).

I say that because in terms of design it feels much more like an XC2 area than an area from the original, in terms of "dense verticality". XC's areas are big, but even in areas that have a large amount of verticality (such as Eryth Sea, or Bionis' Leg) the lay of the land tends to be very easy to read & while I'd never say it's "flat", there doesn't seem to be as much complex geometry in the landscape (which makes sense, given it was a Wii game). Meanwhile Bionis' Shoulder in FC seems to have more complex geometry in it's design and has a lot of vertical planes packed on top of each other really densely, which is much more like how I remembered certain areas in XC2 (there's been a few times when I needed to reach a certain area for a quest and was at the wrong elevation because I missed some tucked away path, or can see the area I need to get to but had to think and poke around a bit how to actually get there, which aren't problems I really had with the main XC campaign).
