@FishyS Yeah, it could do it after a fashion. I'd just think that it'd be rather unwieldy for the reasons I already outlined. Using the gyro in the Pro Controller for aim assist is one thing, but it's rarely employed as a pure pointing device.
For what it's worth, the last three generations of PlayStation controller have also had gyro, and so has the latest Xbox one (finally) but the game hasn't been ported to any of them. If the Switch didn't have Joy-Cons, I've a feeling that it would also have been left off the list.
@Matt_Barber moot issue since the devs just implied they are probably adding pro controller support 😆 I guess the complaints got to them afterall. We can compare once it is implemented. I wonder if they will port to the other consoles after they try that control scheme on Switch.
@FishyS Oh, they already mentioned that they were looking into Pro Controller support on August 3rd, I think. That they're still looking is a good sign though.
Just a thought, but you could probably use Joy-Cons in the grip in the meantime, to get a feel of what it might be like.
I've been slowly playing this, maybe just so I don't rush through it all in a couple of days or so. But I decided after just an hour of gyro controls to switch to the touch screen controls.
Like can we finally bring up that gyro has failed to replace pointer controls? I'm tired of pretending otherwise, bring them back for the Switch 2, it would make a reasonable amount of games better. And seeing a sequel to one of my favorite games have inherently worse controls...I mean thank God there's other options, but gyro is still not as good as pointer controls, for a game 15 years later, please just bring them back already.
