@DTMOF84 Not sure why there is no preorder option for the Switch version on Bethesda's website. But, you can easily preorder both the standard and deluxe versions on Amazon right now.
Thats cool. At $30 I guess buying on both systems is cheap enough. Also, the cover doesn’t say a download is required. Anywhere say that it’s all on the game card or not?

Since it's a budget-price game I assume this will be a 2D action game that will fit on an 8GB game cartridge. I doubt there'll be a required download.
P.S. - I find it interesting that Wolfenstein II crept back into the Amazon NA Top 100 best seller list after the release of the newest trailer for Young Blood. It's as though people forgot Wolfenstein II was released for Switch.
Edit: hmm, after looking at screenshots it looks as though this'll be a 3D first person shooter after all. Still, all the box art I've seen hasn't had the ugly "required download" banner.

I like the cover art for the standard edition better. I’d like to hear more details on how the buddy pass works on Nintendo. Will we have to use the phone app to communicate in game?
Of course other systems will get it on disc. Discs cost like a quarter each.
This game will surely need a 16gb or even 32gb cart. Which for a $60 game is a much lower percentage of profit margin than for a $30 game. Profit margin for physical releases is only 50% after royalties and physical distributuon charge and retailer cut anyways. So $15 per copy sold. Now you’re talking about taking $10 of that profit away for a cartridge? Leaving them $5 per copy sold? It’s no wonder lower-priced games with high file sizes have to go digital.
It’s not “underhanded”. You’re not being oppressed here. It’s got a really large file size and it’s only a $30 game so it just doesn’t make sense to cut out 2/3 of your profit margin. It’s a simple as that.
Buy the game and enjoy it for what it is. No, you won’t have a cartridge on your shelf. But what you will have is the fun and joy of experiencing a great game for half the price of a normal retail title. And, if you opt for the buddy pass you can even enjoy it in co-op with only one copy of the game.
I mean ya, I’d love to have a physical copy but, it is what it is. It still looks like an amazing game at a very fair price and by being physical I can still get my gamers club unlocked discount. Win win

Even if it did come with a cartridge. What good is it if only half the game is on it? Could you play Wolfenstein 2 without a download? No. So years down the road when the Switch is retro and the eShop is closed that game cart will be useless if you don’t have the rest of the game downloaded.
I'm mildly glad this is just a code in a box. That's $40 I won't be giving Bethesda. Although Fallout 76 and this code-in-a-box nonsense haven't completely turned me off to Bethesda and their products, my goodwill is running thin. I'm not sure Bethesda understands how close they are to burning that bridge with their loyal customers?

Looks pretty good as far as I can tell. I like the sort of retro sci-fi theme these games have going on, but I don't play too many FPS games & from what I understand Wolfenstien (& DOOM, from the same publisher) are on the harder end of the spectrum, so I'm not sure if they're for me.
In the past few years I've only played through HALO Anniversary (360), Titanfall 2 (PS4), & Farpoint (PSVR), all on Normal (or equivalent) on the FPS front.
Anybody hear how the game's going to have dreaded paid "loot boxes." Supposed to only be cosmetic items, but seriously, gag me with a forklift. Gaming is going downhill fast.
Listings are up for Wolfenstein Young Blood on the NA EShop with all 3 editions being 20.5 GB
Which means Bethesda didn't want to pony up for the 32GB cartridge, again. Bethesda sure is making it easy to dislike them as a company these days. It makes sad, and even more worried that Starfield and Elder Scrolls VI will suffer from Bethesda's recent culture change. At this point they're nearly on par with Konami, EA, and Activision as the most loathsome of shareholder-pleasing, money-grubbing, halfassing businesses.
