Just more power and battery life, maybe increased resolution for Labo VR, if more games supported it. For a Joy-Con Pro, I'd hope for fixed drift, and for the scroll wheel L & R buttons to be brought back. It would be so nice to have a scroll wheel on each Joy-Con, just for inventory management alone.
Edit: Forgot about storage. My 1 TB sd card is already mostly full, so having a better amount of internal storage would be really nice.
@SwitchForce Are you a Nintendo cultist or something? All I did was answering the question in the thread title: I explained how I feel about the Switch, what it lacks compared to the Wii U / 3DS, and talked about the ideas that I have that would undoubtedly make a new iteration (or successor) of the Switch hardware much better in my eyes. After that I answered your questions (from the post you adressed to me) that you deleted yesterday.
I hope you are ok. You know, I loved every Nintendo home console from the SNES to the Wii U. It was an evolution that was only getting better generation by generation. Nintendo was always adding on top of the last console in every regard. The Switch is just the first ''home console'' Nintendo hardware since... ever, that doesn't add much on top of it, especially when you consider that it takes away quite much, and therefore it doesn't totally succeed on my level of expectations, that's all. The Switch had much to live up to (to beat the Wii U and 3DS), but it only managed to be slightly more powerful and to be a true hybrid, all the other good features got scrapped, which is a big loss in my eyes. I think that is also the reason why the Switch doesn't sell as good as it could. If the Switch did everything right, it should have been as successful as the DS and Wii, but it isn't.
On a Switch Pro (2021) or next gen/switch 2 (2023?) does Nintendo really need to go above 1080p on the TV? Personally I think no, as long as it can play visually intense games (outer worlds, Zelda, Witcher 3 etc) at a rock solid 60 FPS 1080p
What I want for a Pro Variant and more: [I think Nintendo will make a next gen system in 2023, but keep supporting the Switch with their own ports for 3 or so years, but for now...]
Joy Cons:
•Sticks much less prone to drift
•Improved Motion Controls for VR, more on that later
Better Bluetooth
More Grippable Design
Bigger Buttons
Grips for portable mode and TV mode
Slightly Better Battery Life [25 hours, not a huge deal]
Nintendo Switch TV:
°A Console aimed to double as a streaming device similar to Roku, Android TV, Apple TV, etc., except that this is good.
4K support, Upscaled for most games, pure 4K for streaming
Includes Services such as Netflix, Hulu, Disney Plus, HBO Max, and Peacock
Is an all digital device similar to Xbox One SAD or PS5 Digital Edition
Supports Alexa, Google Assistant, Siri, the garbage known as Bixby, and Cortana
Includes Remote and Pro Controller
HDMI in for cable, or whatever else
Includes a free game, Boxboy and Boxgirl
Only $100
Nintendo Switch UI 2
Updated UI available for all Switch Systems
Themes
Better Navigation and Exposure for more games
Custom Profile Pictures through an app on iOS and Android, and Windows phone in some weird alternative reality
Free Update on every model, Themes are included with games
Nintendo Switch Pro
4K@30fps support on TV Mode
1080p60fps support on Handheld-Tabletop mode
Better Kickstand
Magnesium Alloy
Big Battery, preferably 5500mah, last at least 8 hours
500GB of storage
Dual Micro SD Card Slots
Better Chip by AMD, Samsung, or some other chipset company idk
About as powerful as The Original Xbox One or The Original PS4
7.2 inch screen, OLED maybe
No exclusive games, but games run much better on Pro.
$400
Nintendo Switch For 2DS Owners:
Clamshell Design similar to 3DS, DS, except it doesn't have a second screen so it's more like a Nintendo SS (Single Screen)
Battery on par with Switch Lite
720p 5.8 inch screen
360° Hinge for Tabletop mode, similar to a 2in1 laptop
Interchangeable Shells
Very Cheap felling design
I'd guess it would be $150, but if Nintendo is on some kind of drugs, it'll could be as low as $100 or even $90
Clam shell is passed that won't happen the cost would be prohibited to consumers. I will only be a new Switch replacing the older Switch is what will happen. Having too many system will downgrade the Switch Appeal. You can always find the older Switch at used retailers and buy the Newer one or exchange for newer unit. What your asking won't fly nor will it help with NIN development. The Lite only happen because they probably did their HomeWork and figure having just portable unit for less would still get them the market share. But having too many iterations of the same unit doesn't equal better sales figures. They already know there will always be a used market for older Switch units and they would rather support newer Switch units if not then we wouldn't have a Nintendo today or tomorrow. So those whom never run a Gaming Business like NIN have no idea of Business/Markets 101.

I, too, refer to myself in the third person sometimes.
I would like more on the software side, honestly. I'm fine with the device for what it is, but my lifestyle doesn't offer me much time anymore to play long sessions.

Here's a question for you guys. Everyone keeps talking about a new Switch 2 or Pro, but that really isn't necessary with the tech that's already in the Switch and tech that's becoming evermore popular. It's call an eGPU! Over the last 18 months more people have started to buy mid-grade laptops and couple them with a eGPU to play AAA titles at high quality. Now this hasn't been possible in the past because of connectivity, but now with USB-C thunderbolt connections, we can run bi-directional data and power up to 40gbs. I realize this has been a long question, here's the meat of it.
Maybe Nintendo is prepping a new eGPU Dock for the current switch, which could easily sale between $199 and $299, giving you a massive upgrade as for dock mode. Remember the Switch has a USB-C port and handheld has never been a performance issue anyway.
Would love to know your thoughts, at least those who understand what an eGPU can do for a system!
@Slowdive which was my point. Your statement (prediction) wasn't bold, its so obvious it didn't need to be said. It's like nate the hate predicting at some point a direct will happen. Bold.
The article on the main site mentioned rumors of "increased interactivity", so what if the new model can track it's position in space? Alongside a 1080p screen (and maybe a small boost in power), this could make turning it into a mobile VR device more viable than the current model is capable of.
Probably wishful thinking on my part, but I believe the Oculus Quest (a self contained VR headset) is in the same ballpark price wise as the Switch, so the tracking tech may not be out of Nintendo's price range.
Of course, the increased resolution & motion capabilities would be a boon for regular games as well, but they could sell a plastic "VR Headset" shell on the side (maybe bundled with a game), for those interested in VR.
It's not like it's something they haven't already dabbled with, given the Labo release on the current Switch, which could be seen as a sort of proof of concept (and it got more support than the other Labo kits, with Smash, BotW, Odyssey, & Captain Toad all getting some sort of support for it, plus a couple of 3rd party releases such as Spice & Wolf VR & Neonwall).
Currently Playing:
Switch - Blade Strangers
PS4 - Kingdom Hearts III, Tetris Effect (VR)
Just you watch, the Switch Pro will be the only way to get folders and themes.
Switch Physical Collection - 1,247 games (as of April 15th, 2024)

It absolutely needs to have a fast SSD built in, or it will never be able to have ports of the PS5 and Series X games, since they will be built from the ground up to make use of a fast SSD.
