I finally bought BOTW. I have been putting it off since its my second Zelda game and I did not like the first game I played sadly :/

However I have put 5 hours in to it so far and I can for certain say that I will finish it. I love playing it in bed before sleep.

@Xaldin not gonna lie I have been fighting off the urge to buy disgaea 5, looks to be a very deep turn-based strategy rpg, but went with tiny metal instead. Hope you enjoy, looks like you got a great selection of games!

@PuppyToucher That's the game I'm most excited to play! For now I want to play Pokemon Ultra Moon since the distribution of Rockruff is ending soon, and once I start a game I want to finish it before moving on.

@Xaldin You've been rather spoiled if you ask me. To put things in perspective I don't think I own more than 2 games given to me as a present. But don't worry I'm not here to judge, enjoy your new game library

I got some really nice presents myself, I love my Tiki and Chrom Amiibo. I also got a Star Wars poster and a powerbank in the shape of a classic tin robot.

A piece of the Triforce appeared before you! (>'.')> Touch it now!

@Sir_Anthony as I mentioned I spent an equal amount of money in return, so in reality I just spent ~$800 of my own money to buy those games. I mean, we could have spent a lower amount of money on each other and I would have only gotten a couple games for Christmas then used the money I saved to buy the games myself. It's not like I'm spoiled for having that money to spend on Christmas gifts. I wasn't just handed the money, I had to work and save for it.

I went off the deep end to try and round out my Switch collection... I had to buy these for myself!

@Xaldin Some families work just so they can make a living, some families work so they can spend $800 on Christmas gifts for each other. That is very generous I guess. But still in regard of money family two is rather lucky if only for the fact they're not suffering from third world problems. You are a bit lucky, you are a bit spoiled. I'm too you know. I think it's a courtesy to acknowledge and appreciate it, but not to brag about it. Just as it's disrespectful to say those with a lacking Christmas should work harder. I know that isn't what you implied but worrying about coming across as spoiled, well that really is a first world problem

Didn't get any games for Christmas, mainly because i bought the ones i wanted when they came out. That's the way me and my wife have it worked out.
We don't get each other presents (for Christmas or birthday), so that when something we do want comes out, we just get it.

@Sir_Anthony If instead of receiving those games as gifts I bought them myself and you still me spoiled, then yes by your definition I am spoiled. Personally I consider that fortunate. For me, spoiled is a child who is completely indulged in gifts from their parents. I had a lot of people to buy for this Christmas and we each set a price limit for each other based on what we could afford. Typically it was about $80 per person.

If someone got a car as a gift I would consider them spoiled. But two people bought each other the same car then I wouldn't consider that any different than buying yourself a car. Personally I wouldn't consider that spoiled.

Anyway, here's Google's definition of spoiled:
harm the character of (a child) by being too lenient or indulgent.

And yes, worrying about coming across as spoiled is a first world problem but that's fine. Most of our problems are.

In a moment of weakness I might have cracked and bought Mario and Rabbids and fast rmx, but it's OK, I need stuff to do in January when I'm broke

My parents got me a Switch for Christmas, much to my surprise. I felt like I was six years old again when I unwrapped it. Still can't believe it.
They also got me Mario and the Explorer's Edition of BOTW. I already played BOTW to death on Wii U in the spring, but I'll certainly play it again. I've been playing Mario nonstop for the last couple days. Back to work tomorrow though.

Also picked up a 64GB micro SD card (I'm not big on digital games), a good hard shell case, tempered glass screen protectors, and a Pro controller for my new Switch using gift cards on Boxing Day. Also got a copy of Assassin's Creed Origins for my PS4. Contemplating getting LA Noire for my Switch...

My parents got me a Switch and Super Mario Odyssey. I can't complain.

Finally got my Switch with Odyssey and Xenoblade 2.

It's funny, I originally went into 2017 thinking Mario will be the game I'm most excited to play (since I'm not a big Zelda fan), but after playing both XC1 and XCX last September, I found myself more hyped for XC2 and ended up playing over 30 hours so far whereas I've gotten only like 260 Moons in Odyssey so far. Plus, when BotW did actually come out I got it for my Wii U and I actually really enjoyed it by a lot.

Now I can't decide if Odyssey, BotW, or Xenoblade is my game of 2017. This has been a great year of personal surprises for me.

Metroid, Xenoblade, EarthBound shill

I run a YouTube/Twitch channel for fun. Check me out if you want to!

Please let me know before you send me a FC request, thanks.

@Anti-Matter
No, I work full time. There was no way I was buying a Switch until a price drop. It's $400 Canadian and games are $80, plus sales tax. So it was a really nice surprise considering my parents have never liked me playing games. They have not bought me anything gaming related since the Gamecube (Christmas 2002, I think).

EDIT: It was a really hard year for me too in a lot of ways. Not getting into details, but I had a lot of health problems etc. So it was kind of this light at the end of the tunnel.
