Nintendo's earnings release will be on January 31st. We should expect to see a revised shipment forecast for the Switch's launch month, and an updated games lineup for 2017 with more concrete dates.
Nintendo's financial results briefing will be on February 1st. There will be a presentation from Kimishima which focuses on Nintendo's future prospects, and a Q&A session that's going to be flooded with Switch-related questions.
A dozen of other major game publishers will be releasing their earnings in the next two weeks. They usually have a results briefing on the same day, or a day after the earnings release. It will be interesting to hear what they have to say about the Switch in terms of software support.
I'm currently sitting in a mini bus returning home from Cambodia. I've got a wee shelf in front of me and a hot girl sat next to me. I was just thinking how perfect the Switch would be right now. I could put in tabletop top mode, hand the girl one of my Joy-cons and recreate the scene from the reveal trailer. I've never been very good at breaking the ice,especially when I'm surrounded by other strangers who will hear my feeble attempt at chatting her up but armed with a Switch, it'll be so much easier.
@OorWullie Best game would be Mario Kart... or maybe Snipperclips, though that may cause arguments being it's nature of a puzzle game. Unfortunately the former game isn't available until April. Hopefully you get to see that hot girl in a future trip, or an equally hot looking girl.

@FragRed Yep Mario Kart would be the ideal game.I'll be making the same journey again to renew my visa in 60 days and it's quite common to see the same people so every chance I'll see her again but the chances of getting the seat next to her again are slim. Unfortunately MK8 wont be out by the time I go again so it might need to be Snipperclips haha

Honestly I have no idea. My wireless is really good so I never bothered with ethernet adapters. But even so, this one seems like a new release so I don't think anyone has tried it yet.
I imagine it's about the same as Wii U. In fact I'd be shocked if the Wii U ethernet adapters weren't compatible... but who knows

Nintendo Earnings Preview: What to Watch
Analysts will be watching to see if Nintendo upgrades its forecast for March Switch shipments
Nintendo Co. is scheduled to brief the press on its third-quarter earnings after the Tokyo market closes on Tuesday, followed by a corporate strategy meeting on Wednesday. Hereâs what to look for.
EARNINGS FORECAST: Analysts expect Nintendo to report a net profit of 34.2 billion yen ($297.1 million) for the October-December period, according to a poll by data provider Quick, up from a ÂĨ29.1 billion profit from a year earlier.
REVENUE FORECAST: Nintendo is expected to have earned ÂĨ177.5 billion in revenue during the three-month period, analysts say, down from the ÂĨ221.5 billion it gained in the same period a year ago.
WHAT TO WATCH:
âSWITCH FORECAST: Nintendo starts a sink-or-swim challenge with its new hand-held hybrid console Switch on March 3, and it initially estimated it would ship two million units in the month. Analysts believe Nintendo would upgrade the figure to better reflect solid preorder status. For the platformâs long-run success, Nintendo should ship at least 2.5 million units in March but ideally more than three million of them, analysts say.
âCOINS MARIO COLLECTED: Nintendo released the âSuper Mario Runâ smartphone game in December, which is free to download but costs $10 to unlock all its features. Analysts expect the appâs revenue contribution to be small especially because the release was just for Apple Inc.âs iOS devices and the game received poor reviews. One thing to compare with is âPokÊmon Go,â a successful smartphone game that gives Nintendo revenues through an affiliate that was in charge of making the app. In the July-September quarter, Nintendo gained ÂĨ12 billion from PokÊmon-related sales.
âPOKÃMON AND 3DS: Nintendo said it shipped more than 10 million copies of new PokÊmon games for the 3DS hand-held in the first batch when the games were released in November, and outside data show PokÊmon helped prop up sales of the 3DS, the popular but aging platform. Analysts will look at the latest data to see if the momentum was strong enough to offset the lackluster sales on the console side because Nintendo largely discontinued production of the Wii U, the unpopular system soon to be replaced by the Switch.
âEXCHANGE RATE: Nintendo earns the majority of revenue outside Japan and holds a lot of cash holdings in the dollar end euro, making the companyâs bottom line vulnerable to foreign-exchange market fluctuations when closing its books. Analysts say the third quarter was kind to Nintendo because the yen was weaker overall.
âSURPRISES: Nintendo chief Tatsumi Kimishima may provide surprises, including smartphone game titles for the next fiscal year starting in April, an estimate of how many Switch console it hopes to sell in the coming fiscal period, or perhaps something on its quality-of-life project that Nintendo hasnât provided updates on for a while. Analysts say they donât expect Nintendo to elaborate much on what they plan to do in April and onward because the company will first focus on the March launch of the Switch.

Can't find any STEAM reviews, but just judging by gameplay I've watched it looks really good. Especially for $20 retail release (GameStop exclusive). The developer, Frozenbyte, has earned a good name through their Trine franchise, but this looks totally different than anything they've ever made before. The game also takes advantage of the HD rumble which tells me they're really going all out to make this game as much is it can be on Switch.
I have a copy pre-ordered and I look forward to playing it day one. I take great pleasure in supporting developers like this who work hard to make a great game specifically for Nintendo platform and utilize all its features, and even work to bring us a physical copy (they know Nintendo gamers like their physical). I know the game existed before but, I don't see it being ported to any other consoles, and that makes me appreciate it all the more.
Same goes for Redout, an excellent game on STEAM coming to Switch as an exclusive, and with physical release. Definitely have that one locked in as well

Oh is it? I hadn't heard anything. Probably because I'm guessing it's digital only elsewhere, so I didn't see the retail release. Well all the same it won't be any less fun being on other consoles.
But ya it looks great. It's a very unique game and I haven't seen anything like it. I've been following it since it's announcement and I haven't really seen anyone else talking about it, probably because Zelda overshadows everything. Even Bomberman and I Am Setsuna aren't getting much attention. And I liked I Am Setsuna. I just wish it was getting a physical release. Heck I wish Sonic Mania and Yooka Laylee were too. Well there's still hope for Yooka Laylee at least

@JaxonH Redout is coming to PS4 and Xbox one too.I don't think they have a release date yet though.Not sure about physical release either.Hopefully Switch will receive it at the same time as the others.I'm hugely looking forward to it,I hadn't heard of it until recently but after watching some videos and reading its PC reviews,I can't wait.As much as I enjoyed Fast Racing Neo and will purchase RMX,I think this will be even better.
@OorWullie
Ya I just didn't see physical releases for these games on other platforms, like I mentioned above... hard to keep track of digital.
But the game is excellent. I got it on STEAM and while it's different than F-Zero and even FAST, it's really fun. And gorgeous too.
I liked FAST, but I thought the DLC was better than the main game. Not to say the main game was bad, the DLC was just really good! Too bad no physical release though... man. At least Has Been Heroes, Redout, Puyo Puyo, Binding of Isaac and a few others are getting boxed versions.
Really wanted I Am Setsuna, Sonic Mania and Ultra Street Fighter II boxed as well.

Has-been-heroes hasn't been released for any platform yet. Probably why you can't find any reviews . I'm certainly interested in the game, looks like fun. It'll probably be the cheapest Switch retail release for a while.
@shaneoh
I was under the impression it was already out on STEAM. But ya that's probably why. Usually these games hit STEAM first before making the jump. Nice to see Switch get it right away though, if that's the case.

One thing that I don't think was reported by Nintendo Life was the Neo Geo games coming to Switch, starting with King of Fighters '98 in March, with Waku Waku 7, Shock Troopers, World Heroes Perfect, and Metal Slug 3 coming later. I own some of those on Steam already, but I'll definitely double dip on Switch.
