@Octane Pro Controller is not necessary unless you want to play VC. And a dock? You're not going to put it in your same house, are you? Unless you want to travel aboard.
For me, I think I'll settle for what's in the box right now. If I were you, I would do the same, and wait for the prices to go down.
Making promise is easy. The hard part is keeping it.

@Azooooz Actually the Pro Controller may well be necessary if you like me have a friend with massive hands, playing 2 player Bomberman with those tiny JoyCons won't feel at all comfortable for him.

@Octane
Why do you need a second dock? I really don't see any feasible reason why anybody would need a second dock for one household unless you live in some kind of McMansion where you need to drive a golf cart from one end of your house to the other. Or the 10 seconds it takes to unplug your dock and simply move it to another TV every now and then is just too much of a hassle and you'd rather spend 90 bucks.
The lack of d-pad using the joycons/grip controller did worry me, but almost everything I've read/watched from people who have actually held the thing says the lack of d-pad is not as big of an issue as everyone is making it out to be. I just watched something where the guy from Electric Playground said Nintendo worked some kind of magic with the positioning of those arrow buttons that it practically feels like it is a d-pad.
As for the storage, I assume you're going all-digital? Then yea, out of everything you just said, a storage card is literally the only add-on price you NEED at launch. Everything else is gravy and preference.
@Azooooz That's what I was saying, it's not mandatory, but recommended if you play VC (or any other 2D platformer and the likes for that matter). And no, I don't consider a second dock necessary, but it was just my own personal addition. I wasn't trying to argue that, and thought I made that clear by putting it in a separate paragraph.
@rallydefault Well, again, I wasn't trying to argue that you need a second dock, that was just my personal addendum. I travel a lot between my apartment for uni and my parent's place back home for the holidays and the weekends. A second dock would be perfect in my situation. For €30 it would've been a no-brainer.
A Pro Controller is just something I'd like to have. I got one for Wii U as well. Even if the Joy-Cons feel great in the grip, I still want to get one for the d-pad.
And no, not going digital. But my used almost all of the 32 GB on the Wii U, and that's mostly just save data , patches and DLC. I think I only have around five indie/VC games digitally on the Wii U. Indie support seems a lot better on the Switch in my opinion, so I think I'll get more games digitally on the Switch that did on the Wii U. Of course, that completely depends on the games that are releasing on the system. Some form of extra storage capacity, even if it's just another 32 or 64 GB, isn't that strange at all, regardless if you're going mostly physical or digital.
@Octane
I see what you're saying with your mobility situation. I would try and wait for a sale on the dock, though that likely won't happen until the Holidays at the soonest.
I really do want a pro controller, I think, but I'm going to give the joycons+grip a shot before I put the money down for one. If what people have been saying is true, and the grip really does feel fairly regular, I'll probably forgo the pro controller until it goes on sale. (I don't think I've ever bought a controller for any system for full price.)
As for the storage, I'm using cartridges, so I'm going to wait until I need to upgrade due to dlc/patches, which could be a pretty long time. And when I do, I'll probably spring for something bigger like 128 gigs that will cover me no matter what for the rest of the lifespan.
At any rate, I really don't think I'm going to purchase any "extras" until a few months down the line, basically. (Except for a case... already bought one oops lol)
@rallydefault I'm not getting the Switch at launch, so I'll be fine. Nothing coming out until Mario Odyssey that really interests me. Already have a Wii U for Zelda. ARMS depends on the content and Splatoon 2 is a maybe too, depending on the size of the single player. By the time I will get a Switch, I'm hoping that the price has come down a bit for the dock. I'm no hurry, so I can wait for that.
I really don't get the whining about the second dock...? Are people moving their PS4/XBONE back and forth between different TVs? At least if you want to play this system in a different room, you can just play it on the screen.
Personally, I'll probably get the pro controller once a game I want to play two player with comes out (maybe splatoon)? Yeah, some games you could play with two joy cons rotated, but for other games you'll need a real controller for each person to play multiplayer. But you have to buy a second controller with any system pretty much. I don't understand why the pro controllers are so expensive though - it's $20 more than a dual shock 4 and $10 more than an xbone controller.
I am way too lazy to think of something clever. My Backloggery
Has it occurred to anyone that the Mario-Rabbids game might have been a mis-interpretation of Mario Odyssey? After all, the latter does feature some suspiciously rabbit-and-rabbid-looking bad guys.
As for what the likes of LKD said prior to the reveal... they've been found out and have gone very quiet.
@Emperor-Palpsy Doubt it. They clearly described it as an RPG, Yoshi is supposedly having an important role in the game, and while there are rabbits in Odyssey, they are clearly not Rabbids.
