I think the bathroom bit is a tad tacky, but the messaging is very clear.
I think it's great. It adds a layer of humour to the ad that makes it stand out, but also in all truth is probably something that people wish they could do. Their ads so far have been on point really selling the portability factor. It's a shame that the presentation just decided to completely skip that aspect for the most part.
I hope Nintendo announce a direct soon to cover more details about the UI, online, e-shop etc.
@Ralizah Heh, In my opinion that bathroom part should've been added at the final sections of the commerical instead of first just to be like, "Yep you can play ANYWHERE." just to drive that message home more.
I have decided that I'm going to wait for Nintendo to reveal more about the Switch before pre-ordering the system. I need to know more before I make a jump.
Making promise is easy. The hard part is keeping it.

Yeah, I think the ad as a whole is pretty effective, I just think it's gross watching some guy do his business on the loo. Never have been a fan of "toilet humor." Badumtish
I hope NA's advertising is this focused. Please god, no more ads like that one for Yoshi's Wooly World.

I'm thinking I'll probably get a PS4 Slim right now, and then pick up a Switch a couple years down the road when the price is lower or they release a new version of the Switch. As much as I love Nintendo games, I couldn't justify picking one up at that price, especially considering the price of accessories and the lack of games for the first couple years. Plus, I'm a sucker for AAA third party games, especially open world ones, and there are a lot of those coming out on the PS4 this year. Just can't pass up Mass Effect Andromeda and Red Dead Redemption 2.
Amazon France has quite low prices for the Switch console (300€) and Zelda (52€)!
And they seem to have stock because you can place a pre-order? Even with the higher cost and faster postage selected I could get the system and game for a similar price than just the console in Finland! (console about 380€ and Zelda 60-65€ in these parts...)
The catch is that I might have to wait up to a week more than just sticking to my Finnish pre-order and walking into a store on 3/3!
Really tempted to just pay more and get to playing Zelda right on the launch say....

I personally didn't mind the toilet bit at all. The thing that gets me a bit about that ad is playing the game during a lecture. Guys, pay attention! You shouldn't be playing games during lectures!
That said, every bit in the ad communicates the Switch pretty well. Hitting all of the important points IMO. Playing at home wherever you want. Playing with one or more players on your TV. And then playing multiplayer over local wireless. And it targeted it at the UNI student which is probably the best demographic to target for this device. Fantastic ad.

An opinion is only respectable if it can be defended. Respect people, not opinions
I think there might be a direct in February in the fire emblem direct said more details to come also we got VC(they always talk VC in the start of the year) and more on online like price and other details I think they might start paid online near splatoon 2 or fire emblem warriors.I also think the one in feb. will cover switch and 3ds I think they have a switch one right after launch before Mario kart 8 deluxe.

@Ralizah I'd agree, but the YouTube commenters under the video seem to find it revolutionary. A lot of them seem to believe it signifies a new, more grown-up Nintendo.
The irony of course being that they're sitting there laughing at poo jokes.
