@rallydefault I saw that video about the Foxconn leak. He's right, the fact that the leak predicted the Switch's exact measurements and weights gives it a lot of weight (I didn't even mean it as a pun, I swear), and it means the Switch's power must be fairly promising. Not that it desperately needs it, but it's still exciting.

Nobody talks much about how the system is drawing <10W. People just don't seem to care much. But I must say as a PC gamer living in a place that's going to hit ~40C (~105F) today? I really love the idea of the Switch. "But you can play those games on PC!"... well yeah, not easily during the summer.

Same reason why I love the Steam Link. If I can play games in the summer and not be in the same room as a small heater? That's a pretty good selling point.

they should immediately take off work for multiple weeks, that way they wont have to worry about going back to work when they get fired and they can play their switch all they want.

@skywake My PC is pretty good about cooling but it still gets hot in a long session.

But 10W or less. The Wii was 40W. The Wii U is 35W.

If the leak power isnt true, then 10W for what Eurogamer says is the systems power through their saltiness is still very impressive, especially in the form factor. Id class that as technical wizadry (I already use that with regards to joycons and the Switch generally).

If the Foxconn leak power IS true and this thing can output that kind of stuff in that small a space for such miniscule power consumption, that is flat out magic and I would not argue with saying Switch is one of the most advance pieces of tech around.

I mean it already is the way its working but if thats true...well as I said: Magic.

The W you draw from the wall becomes heat, almost entirely. If your PC (or console) draws 100W from the wall? You have a 100W space heater. Regardless of how good it is at pumping that heat out of the case. Most gaming PCs these days sit at ~300W or so under load.... not fun in a small room on a hot day to say the least.

@Mellor2000 Perhaps they just get the lion's share of the stock, being the official store and all - I'm not sure. I would have ideally got mine from Amazon due to Prime shipping and that, but the Nintendo UK store was the only place left I could find for consoles.

I got BotW from Amazon though (I'm not paying £60 and I don't want a T-Shirt), so presumably I'll have the game but nothing to play it on for a certain period of time. Which will be sad.

If you're gonna make up some nonsense, at least try to be believable. In no way is Rockstar taking a chance with Switch by going back to LA Noire. ESPECIALLY not after all that happened with that game's development. I refuse. That is impossible.

I'm going to take a guess that you haven't seen the video where he threw a PS4 yet.

I've been subscribed to the guy for a while. Really cool and thoughtful dude. What I like most about him is while he seems pro-Nintendo (to me anyway), his opinions are based in numbers and strong circumstantial evidence rather than fanboy emotion. My favorite video by him is the one addressing the 'artificial scarcity' myth. Definitely recommend checking that one out if you haven't had the chance already.

That's why i think (if it's true obviously) we will get major surprises at E3 for games that will come in the summer time span (anyone said Pikmin 4 or a Smash Bros/Mario Maker port?). Even if it says Splatoon 2 is coming summer and September 30th is defintely not summer!

Yep - same here - listed for the 4th. Since it's a business address it won't arrive here if they do try to deliver on the 4th.

It doesn't bother me at all if I have to wait a few days but I'm still relatively optimistic it'll come on the 3rd regardless of what they currently state on the order confirmation. My experience with Amazon is that they often bring things a day or two earlier than they initially estimate.

lol yea I did see that one, but he does cover all of the systems while admitting he's a Nintendo "fan" (which actually a lot of Youtubers do... Boogie2988, most of the Normal Boots guys, etc.)

@Whitewatermoose How reliable are Direct Feed Games with rumours? I'm genuinely interested because I actually did like the first game though never finished it, so if it did come to the Switch I'd definitely consider the purchase, especially again playing it on the go like Skyrim. Plus if it sells well it may make Rockstar more likely to bring other games to the system. And hopefully make a sequel.

@Whitewatermoose My initial concern about the rumours was the idea of Rockstar remastering a game. I know they did it with Bully but I'm struggling to think whether they've done it with anything else. It's not the kind of thing they're known for.

I don't count the PS2 games on PS4 and I see GTA V being something in development for both this generation and last generation at same time, rather than a remaster or anything.

Rockstar New England led development on the X360 remaster of Bully, and handled the PC port. They also provided assistance on the development of L.A. Noire. They haven't worked on a title of their own since Rockstar acquired them in 2008, and it has been a few years since their last credit. So I wouldn't be surprised if this rumour turns out to be true.

@MumboJumbo I'm intrigued as to when Rockstar would release such a remaster as this holiday will see them launch Red Dead Redemption 2. I can't see them releasing both games in the same period. Could they?

Meanwhile LA Noire is sitting in my Steam library unplayed.

Honestly I really couldn't care less what Rockstar does on Switch unless it's new. Really, what remaster or remake could they bring to the table that would get people hyped? I'd take a Chinatown Wars type deal over GTA 5 ~4 years late. LA Noire? Now that's almost laughable.

@skywake LA Noire would be almost laughable if the rumour didn't indicate that it's a remaster also coming to the PS4 and Xbox One. That makes it more acceptable that the Switch is getting such a game. If it was literally Rockstar dumping a port of the game onto the Switch and no other system then yes I'd agree it would seem really odd and would get people laughing at the Switch and third party support.
