@Operative2-0 Oh I so agree with what you said. Again, they are giving rumour mills and click bait breathing room and their strategy becomes less controlled delivery and more damage control.
I never drive faster than I can see. Besides, it's all in the reflexes.
The best bit in that article is the comment about storage. Game saves are stored on the Switch itself regardless of where the game data is. Which is fantastic news for anyone who was annoyed with data management on the Wii U.
It means you can delete or move a download and still have the save data intact. It means you can share a cartridge with someone without having to worry about them overwriting your save. It would also simplify cloud saves if they go that route. And wow, Pokemon. Yes!
It also means that you could remove the cart or SD card and the game could still finish saving. Theoretically, still not a great idea. But for a HDD solution on the dock down the road? That sort of safeguard is very much needed.
The more they say "Accounts" and with the reveal that its based on what region you assign to each account for the eShop...the more I think some internet critics are going to start choking.

Tried posting a comment on Youtube, but of course the site is messed up so I can't reply to comments.
Was trying to ask about the whole multiple accounts thing, and having them tied to different regions, and what happens when it comes to online. Multiple fees or just one for all accounts? Really hoping it's just for all of them, would make things easier and stuff.
...Actually...how do you buy games from a different region anyways? Just curious, lol. >.>
@Joeynator3000
Well physical games would be playable on all accounts. I assume that your store region and eShop credit is tied to one account. Same with purchase history. And if it's anything like Wii U purchases on one account would work across all accounts on the same system.
But if that's the case? They'd have to have some restrictions on having your account on multiple systems. Otherwise it'd be open to abuse. It'll be interesting to see which way they go about it.
I personally would have stuff tied to my account and put up with restrictions on sharing purchases. Itd be better than having full access to content purchased on one system with no movement of your own account. Ideally we'd get a bit of both with some kind of "family sharing" deal. But account > system.
I dunno I never thought about it until now, really hope the subscription goes to all accounts, and I could buy a Japanese online game and play it without any issues. -w- really hope Monster Hunter Frontier gets on the Switch now, lol

Keep it PG-13-ish.
Gamexplain says the eShop region is tied to your account, and you can make 8 accounts. So you can make a Japanese account, for example, and buy Japanese games on the eShop, and so on. I think it's something like that, anyway. I wonder if it would really work so well. Seems like there would have to be a catch.
@BLP_Software I'm getting the idea that region lock isn't completely gone. Hidden away like PS4 rather than non-existent like XB1.
So for example let's say you buy a game from the US but you have a European account so you buy the DLC from the European eshop. As a result, the DLC doesn't work because you need a European copy of the game for the European DLC to work.
Also, that game that you couldn't quite see that was on the game list in the tweet about 1001 Spikes and Cave story is confirmed to be Hydra Castle Labyrinth, for anyone who cares.
@Grumblevolcano Well the internet doesn't moan about that on PS4 so...
Also I love how all those things Sony said weren't in PS4 but are in Xbox One, are actually there and no one bats an eye. Its great.
Granted, games are tied to your account on Wii U/3DS, its just your account is tied to the system. But this shows that Nintendo Account is a lot more open on the user end and purchases will, due to the region based nature, be upfront in the account itself.
With regards to DLC, I imagine it'll work like it does on Wii U and I /think/ 3DS? where the store says "Do you own it" and you say yes.
My issue with region lock is this. Yes, the system itself isn't, and Nintendo wont be imposing it. But developers can, and in the past have. I believe Capcom is fond of that (I recall the X Collection itself was region locked, as well as the PS2 as a system) but I may be misremembering.
The best example I have is anime tie-in games. The owner of the IP will have to give approval for international release of materials pertaining to the property, a bit like syndication on TV. Catch is, importing will just get that content out of its licensed market, which could be both positive and negative. The other issue is one of age ratings and culture. So in Japan different things fly more than here in the West, or even between the US and EU. So something with a lower age rating there, when localised and brought over here without any changes to material deemed a little less okay culturally (Younger folk in skimpier things for instance), then the age rating would skyrocket, naturally.
But that opens up a censorship debate, and people should be able to play what they want and folks not taking into account different cultures do different things with different rules etc. etc. and we aint gonna go there.
Basically I'm going say region lock will still be around but on a game by game basis based on the publisher (If a licensed property) or developer. Hence why Nintendo said "Generally", because that's the legality and truth of it. In general, its gone.

I'm talking about online gaming...lol. My first post was how the online would work when it comes to subscription fee and multiple accounts. Then I asked about the Eshop and buying a game from a different region.
@Joeynator3000
Nobody knows yet. If I was to guess I'd say it's probably tied to your account. But that is only a guess.
Really hope it's for all accounts, if Frontier ever gets on the Switch we could just get it from there and start playing online. Would be awesome since it has always been Japan-only.
EDIT: Annnnnnd NintendoLife is glitching out with the notifications again, ugh...

Ooh okay, my bad. Wasn't sure if that's what you were talking about, and I haven't used a Nintendo system since the Wii, and never the eShop, so I wasn't sure how that worked.
The interest and reach of the Switch was really huge from the teaser and on. I really wonder how much the negative news surrounding the switch is going to sway people to wait and not purchase.
Wii u's biggest problem(beside the fact that it wasnt very apealing) was that its reach was very small and with all the negative news it could only sell so much so it was a lost cause even before it started.
With the switch the reach has been huge. Its reaching people who are less fickle than us and are already sold at seeing the teaser and games. They dont read all the bs we read everyday.
I imagine if nintendo has got these people interest the switch is set out to become a huge succes. If not well nintendo dun goofed son
I think this means they really have a direct of some sorts coming to control this (possibly big) message/news.
Gamecube virtual console with melee perhaps?!?!?
I had a change of thought. I feel like i've not been underestimating, but overestimating the spread of negative news about the switch.
There have been products or software with a lot of (sometimes manufactured) negative news that ended up selling gangbusters. Case in point Destiny and to an extent no man's sky.
It comes to what Iwata once said about "must haves". Iwata stated that its important for a product to have the sort of appeal in which people just want to have it simple as that. My hope is that the switch becomes a must have product.
I really wish for nintendo to be succesful again. Im gonna be honest with ya guys and im thinking that im not the only one. I sincerely feel like nintendo deserves succes for all its principles. Just look at that mario oddysey game and compare it to the rest. As someone that grew up with SEGA, nintendo has got huge respect from me for never selling out. This makes me pissed off when people put nintendo as a laughing stock. Right now a lot of people are expecting or even hoping the switch failing. I hope Nintendo can make these suckers stfu once and for all.
The news on the user accounts is awesome, if true. Oh wow, how awesome would it be to be able to download Japanese software without having to reformat the system like you do on Vita?
Nintendo is really taking me on a rollercoaster of emotions lately.
