So...can we work out what the actual hell EA is doing? I mean after the Mass Effect 3 full price no features buy it or eff off edition we got when the world was gettingba cheaper at launch complete trilogy, i thought things wouldnt get worse.
But the 360 version of FIFA? Err...is that Steep and Skyrim Special Edition I see? Project Sonic? Enhanced ports of DQ Heroes? What the hell is their exxuse? Least effort max return probably

@BLP_Software
Its EA.
They just want the game they release to do terribly so they can justify not doing any ports for the Switch, since one way or another its an extra cost for them, I guess - making sure the game runs good on both docked and undocked modes, etc.
Now, if the Switch were to do very well, like a Wii or at least competing well with Sony and MS, they would be there, releasing games faster than you could say "greedy"
I figured the Wii U was at least somewhat a mix of tech trouble, market testing and a bad business move, which id say okay, thats fair, happens to anyone.
But this? This is just...just say ya dont want to and we will look away at all the other, significantly better looking and running third party titles because yum.

I stopped reading after he said that Uncharted 4 came out four years after launch on the PS4. The PS4 is only a little over three years old at this point. And Uncharted came out in May last year... Go figure. Also he said that Resogun was an ''indie'' game (like what!?), ignored it because it was an indie game according to him and then started praising the indie games on the Switch. Okay, I admit, I read everything, but this isn't bias, it's simply wrong. He might've had a good point, but please, do some research before you post stuff like that.
@BLP_Software Rumours also told me that we're getting Mother 3, a Smash Bros port, a Xenoblade X port, 8 or 16 new tracks for MK8 on the Switch, that it would be launching March 17, that either Splatoon or MK was a launch title, a female Link in BOTW, a Metroid game during the livestream and many more...
I wouldn't be surprised if EA did something stupid like that, cause they're EA, but I also learnt not to believe any rumour until it's actually confirmed. Now more than ever with all the Switch news.
What im questioning is what made EA go "Yeah good nuff" when other companies are making PS4 ports, in some cases like DQH1+2 enhanced, or very pretty titles like Steep and Skyrim Enhanced, and EA throws a 360 port as its hand.
Fifa sells and Im glad its there, but I have a feeling other third parties are more onboard than them. And if they are going to sit on the ME3 port level of effort, while others do bigger and better things, then they will be held under very harsh scrutiny.
I already am, because with what we have seen running on the hardware, I am baffled, but as said, EA will EA this into a nonsupport thing knowing them. But until we see for sure, best to just say yay portable FIFA.
For all we know its just doomsayers rocking up.

Are these games prices set in stone? Because 78.68 CAD for Breath of the Wild is ridiculous. I'd have to wait for the holidays to buy this thing if that's the case.
@Whitewatermoose
A few things in response to that wall. For a start I think you have amnesia, the Wii U reveal was not clearer. Was there more polish at that E3 presentation? Sure. But I think a lot of that has to do with the clunky translations. I don't think there was any confusion about what the Switch itself was after this. If there was any confusion it was people thinking that Arms was Wii Boxing 2.0 rather than Tekken with long arms.
On the bit about FIFA being a 360 port. Firstly that's not what the rumour said, the rumour said that it was based on the 360/PS3 version. It didn't say the game was a port. So I think it's very possible that it's still a better version of the game than you could get on the 360. And I think its fair to say that the power the Switch does have will no trouble running it at 1080p/60fps. Anyways, technically Nintendo are doing the same with Mario Kart 8.
As for your moral panic. What? You do realise that the Wii had minigames that were just as "bad" as the cow milking thing right? Remember the Mario Party minigame where you had to shake a can until it burst. The person who's can sprayed the highest would win. Haptic feedback or not the Cow Milking minigame has nothing on that. And your theory about Peach and Bowser, WTF is wrong with you? Really?
Moving on to the launch lineup, here's what I think of it. Are they coming out of the gates guns blazing like they did with the Wii U? No. They're also not going to run out of games in the months ahead for that same reason. If anything it's kinda like the 3DS launch but with one key difference. Instead of having to wait months for that Zelda game everyone wants the system for? We're getting it at launch.
BTW this is what the first year for the 3DS looked like when I went to a Nintendo demo event about at this stage before the launch. From memory this is what I took out of it:
Launch - Nintendogs + Cats
Launch - Pilotwings Resort
Launch - Steel Diver
Launch - Street Fighter IV
Launch - AR Games (at the time? the most interesting launch game)
TBA - Ocarina of Time 3D (the most popular demo)
TBA - Kid Icarus Uprising (the most impressive demo)
TBA - Mario Kart 7 (just a trailer)
TBA - Animal Crossing (in a pamphlet)
I didn't walk out of that event pre-ordering the 3DS. People walking through the Switch demo event? They're getting a lot more interesting content than that. I don't think that's even a subjective statement to make. They're just flat out getting a better batch of games than people who saw the 3DS early got.
@KirbyTheVampire That's $60 or about €60. In other words, standard prices.
Huh. Guess I was expecting prices from the early Wii/PS3 era. I skipped out on the Wii U/PS4/Xbone generation, so seeing the current prices is a bit surprising.
@Whitewatermoose I think you're really over thinking the pedophile thing, lol. It's one world in the whole game, and I'm pretty sure everyone knows that Peach isn't a little girl.
As for the third parties, it's too early to judge. Correct me if I'm wrong, but Nintendo should be announcing more games in the coming weeks, and then we have E3 after that. We can't judge the current 3rd party support just yet. If the Switch sells, games will come.
I think your right. I'm talking about imagery of the situation.
You're honestly the only person I've heard that thinks this, lol. Get your mind out of the gutter, man xD.
@skywake not only that, but many claim Nintendo is publishing less and less games, which simply isn't true. The Wii U had more Nintendo published games in Europe than for example the Gamecube. I haven't bothered going through all the consoles and their games, but we easily forget that 4 major Nintendo published titles a year is at least average, if not good. Sure, in the NES days we got a game a month, but those games were much smaller than today's games. I think we're lucky to get Zelda, Mario Kart, Splatoon and Mario in the same year. As far as I know we've never gotten 4 major Nintendo IPs on the same system in 1 year.
@KirbyTheVampire Inflation. $50 in 2006 was on average $59.86 in 2016. Relatively speaking, prices haven't changed. But yes, pretty much every big game this gen has been $60; it's the ''new'' $50.
@Whitewatermoose
Yea . . . you gotta pump the brakes there, man. I'm just observing, but you seem to be losing your mind in a very weird way lol
Take some time to process. The Switch is not coming out this week. We're going to have six weeks of interviews, elaborations, and, yes, even more game announcements before the system comes out. Just sit back and reserve some of that judgment.

From memory Australian RRP has done this, not adjusting for inflation. Big AAA titles:
SNES: ~$90AU
N64: ~$110AU
GC: ~$100AU
Wii: ~$80AU
Wii U: ~$80AU (I don't think I ever paid the full retail price)
Switch: ~$90AU
This is just something that I want bring up which is that the 3ds was launched in March and it didn't really have a great launch lineup but sales started to pick up by a lot when the holidays came when Mario Kart 7 and 3D Land got released. So I'm assuming that Nintendo might go for a 3DS strategy
There's a lot of negativity about the Switch, and in many gaming forums there's one thought which seems to be cropping up more than most (including from myself): "Forget the Switch. I'm getting the Wii U version of BotW."
And it's genius if you think about it.
The Switch is expensive, has few games, limited stock and will require payment for online services.
The Wii U is cheaper, has a larger library, is available and has free online services.
BotW, a hotly anticipated game, is being released for both, with the Wii U version being significantly cheaper...
Come March 3rd, Wii Us are going to fly off shelves. In the coming year, more Wii U games will be sold (such as Smash, Mario Kart, Splatoon, the Selects, etc). In the meantime more games will be made/announced for Switch, building its momentum and appeal. Early adopters won't complain too much. New Wii U owners should hopefully migrate to Switch in a year or so. And the money continues to roll in.
The Wii U needed a system seller, and it finally has one. It's called the Nintendo (Bait and) Switch.
(This post is slightly tongue in cheek, but - whether by luck or planning - Nintendo are likely to get a positive result regarding Wii U sales. Which isn't a bad thing.)
Haedox just released a great critique that I believe perfectly sums up the Switch's current shortcomings.
Also, @WingedSnagret, @swordx, @Tarvaax, and @moomoo all make an appearance.
It's interesting watching the divide between coverage of the Switch. I guess that's the all or nothing nature of the internet these days. Some channels are pretty positive about it. They're impressed with the hardware itself, think Zelda is enough for a launch and are generally excited about what games could be built for it. With some I think it's tech channels that are a bit over there not being that much content on VR and being just a bit nostalgic for Wii Sports.
But then there's the other side. People who are finding fault in every single thing that was announced. Most of it directed at the games obviously and the online subscription. But some of it is clearly just people not understanding the tech. Worried it's not a PS4 killer or that it can't compete with only 32GB of flash. Complaining about the 720p display or the Joycons despite clearly not having seen it in person. Or complaining about the battery life by focusing on the smallest number and forgetting about USB charging.
Personally I think this is the best summary video I've seen so far:
So I've gotten conflicting answers on this. Do you need the smartphone app to play with friends? I'm just wondering cause of the whole "invite your friends from the app" thing. Maybe you'd have the option of doing that or just clicking "Join game" or something?
