Topic: The Nintendo Switch Thread

I'm so Excited! I'm literally going to finish work and rush back home just in time to see the event! I just hope there are still some surprises. Also I know this may be a stupid question, but how do you go about preordering? I've never preordered anything before and if the switch does have limited stock I might just preorder. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Pretty sure Amazon works. Just search it up there, or if you're interested in picking it up in person, maybe look up one of your local stores such as EB Games, Best Buy, Gamestop etc etc (You might have to preorder it in person at some of those stores though, not sure). The actual preorder option won't be there until sometime after the event though, so keep the preorder tab open and refresh the page once in a while.

@Eric258 That depends on where you plan to pre-order from? If it's online then I imagine it'll be erythromycin similar to that of buying anything else, apart from you won't get the Switch until launch day. Also I'm not sure if it's the same in other parts of the world but in the UK, you don't pay upfront for pre-orders though you may put down a deposit.

I'm watching Etika's countdown to the Switch event livestream, and apparently a car with Mario plastered all over it just pulled up to the event and there are two guys inside with V for Vendetta/Guy Fawkes masks...might be fake, but weird if it's real.

Man we're nearly there.All the months/years of speculation,rumours and bickering since the late great Mr Iwata uttered the words NX is about to be brought to a close.The 3 minute reveal in October answered many questions but also presented a lot more.Now in just over 1 hour from now we'll have them all answered and some.I haven't been this hyped for a console reveal since I don't know when.

I don't think I've ever followed a hype train for a system launch that has been as big as this. I mean the Wii was maybe just as big. But the Wii gained most of that momentum post launch. The Switch seems to have been gaining steam for a long time. I'm not sure if that's because of the way the internet works now or something else. But it is interesting.

That's based off a placeholder Walmart price.

Man, rumors are still flowing when we're minutes away from seeing the actual facts. Craziness.

@IceClimbers I know, it says so in the story. The fact remains shares are down slightly and this is Bloomberg reporting the news. It shouldn't hopefully be a big deal and they'll bounce back if the presentation is good.

@skywake I think it goes to show how much people are ready to move on from the Wii U.

@SLIGEACH_EIRE I expect it to drop regardless of what's shown. Buy the rumor, sell the news.

The share price is actually about the same as it has been for the last month. Also the article fails to mention that the drop was followed by a quick rebound. The article says it was about a 4% drop, they're currently about 2% bellow the opening. Fair to say that the reveal will have a much bigger impact than that either way.

And it's worth remembering that the shareholders hated the Switch trailer so. I'm not sure that daily fluctuations are necessarily the measure of how things are going.
