@Octane Lol, I'd be surprised if Kimishima even makes an appearance, let alone making a joke! Maybe a switch pun...
I think I'll update mine to include "someone makes a Switch pun."
Laura Kate retweeted this image from the UK Metro newspaper:
I read another person saying that it's £250. It'll come with a game and there are no multiple SKU's. Kinda making me think that I should jump on the Gameseek pre order before it changes(£198.50).
I really hope it's not cancelled for the Wii U. Quite a few people have bought a Wii U just for BoTW. I can understand why it might happen though, if the final product would end up looking like it did when they showed gameplay on The Game Awards. That framerate was pretty laughable.
I don't think Metro's a very reputable source for gaming news, unfortunately. £245's a reasonable price (pretty good if it includes a game) but I do hope it's £200 to £229.
I'm sick of this "Zelda Wii U cancelled" rumour as well. As if in the last few months before release (after years of stating, and months of showing, that it is on the Wii U) they're gonna suddenly can the Wii U version.
How fast does everyone think Switch preorders will sell out? I usually don't buy consoles at launch but I may decide to get the Switch depending on what's revealed at the event on January 12th. The thing is, if preorders sell out immediately then I'll only have minutes to make my decision.
@PokeMario I'd say preorder on the 13th (assuming preorders open then) if you have any interest in getting a Switch at launch. After the NES Mini nonsense, you really shouldn't trust Nintendo to have decent stock at launch.
I mean the game is out in just over 2 months (allegedly). It's done, it is absolutely a finished game at this point if that is the case, apart from the translation issues affecting the EU release. It is clearly a Wii U game still despite better FPS performance on the Switch, it started development as a Wii U game and if it wasn't still planned as such then it would've been easier to scrap it entirely years ago and start over with a brand spankin' Switch game designed specifically for that system. They've had months and months and months of time to announce such a bizarre cancellation, why would they 'save' that tibit of news for a presentation designed to fester goodwill and satisfaction? Just for the lols? I can't even comprehend why people still think that makes any sense at all. You're being stupid, utterly stubbornly so if you are genuinely thinking that will happen.
It will be the poorer version released a few weeks later, evidently, but that is still the better proposition at this point for Nintendo. This is not even mentioning the fact that pretty much every major Wii U releases has sold well, they would be leaving money on the table for no logical reason at all.
Besides our good friend who I'm convinced has a picture of a Wii U on their dartboard and fridge I'm surprised at anyone else here with rationality still thinks this.
It'd be nice if people were to engage in debate and at least explain why they "wouldn't be surprised" with what they think coming to pass but that's asking for too much it seems.
Going by the recent Nes mini launch and some amiibo, I've not got the greatest confidence in launch stock. But if i was Nintendo hopefully you try to launch with enough stock to supply the demand
When I look at my Nintendo console purchases down the years I brought Gameboy Advance, Gamecube and Wii day one with really no issues, granted i'd pre ordered them all but still got them day one. Nintendo surely can't screw the Switch launch?
@Farmboy74 It won't be an issue with people who pre-order it early on, but it's not very implausible that someone trying to get it from their local store probably won't be able to for a while until demand starts to die down. I don't think it's gonna be quite as hard to find as an NES Mini, though. A 60 dollar system with dozens of famous retro games on it can hardly be compared to a new system that will probably cost around 300 dollars or so. Still, pre-ordering probably isn't a bad idea if you want it early on, especially if they nail the January 12th event, and depending on how well they market the Switch afterward. Who knows, though. Maybe they'll actually keep up with demand this time.
@KirbyTheVampire, personally for me i'm hoping Nintendo nail the reveal on the 13th and launch the Switch with as many New games as possible and a couple of Wii U remasters for day one.
@KirbyTheVampire I assume you haven't been arguing this point that I am doing here against these quite stubborn people. If I'm right and you haven't then I'll give you a simplified version of what it's like. A-hem
It's like trying to get blood from a stone whilst talking to a brick wall. With your hands tied and your mouth glued shut.
Like I say they're just being obtuse for obtuse's sake at this point and IDC if that's condescending or not because I'm tired of taking them seriously on this issue. Sorry if this offends you even though you have nothing to do with it.
