@Shinion Honestly I would avoid most Nintendo forums and places until January. Everywhere I have gone to is like this. Love them or hate them the leaks have split the community in a nasty way.

For the record, I think you were very civil and reasonable and I am glad to find another person who wants to keep the peace. Kudos man.

In regards to the GC news, I think it has credibility and is likely. After all they have been able to do the N64 for a while now. I can't see it being too far of a stretch to do the GC.

I say roll on Thousand Year Door

Not sure why people get mad at Laura leaking things. Considering she's a journalist and needs to make herself stand apart from regular outlets, she's just doing what literally anyone else would do with her sources of information.

@Azooooz I imagine Nintendo must have been aware of the risk that by releasing the Switch announcement trailer but following up with nothing until January 2017 that all their surprises may leak before the actual event.

EDIT: Looks like Eurogamer has decided to leak more stuff, GC VC confirmed.

So much hype for this. To be perfectly honest, I would buy the Switch if it were only a Virtual Console machine just to have games like Mario Sunshine and Paper Mario TTYD on the go. I was excited enough for a portable SNES library on the 3DS.

I wonder what this means for analogue triggers?

@Buizel Laura said a bit back that switch has them. the ZL/ZR definitely looked analog to me in the trailer.

Good news.

On that note, I hope we get something like the PS4 triggers. Gamecube shoulder buttons had a bit too much resistance, and XBox 360 not enough (I dunno how they've changed this for the XBO though?)

As long as its not like the PS4s where putting them down acyivates the buttons causing youtube to skip

@BLP_Software As someone who completely understands the frustration, I think that's a software issue more than hardware. I'd much prefer Youtube, Netflix, etc. required you to push the triggers all the way down, and see no reason as to why they're sensitive to the slightest nudge =/

@Buizel well its one of the two. Sadly the design of the controller also means those two buttons are arched down to activate which isnt an issue but the charging port is also in a spot where it easily disconnects so i need to lie it face down.

Its a great feeling controller but it has quirks :/

This. May as well all get mad at Nintendo for selling their products at high prices so they can make a profit and ensure their survival in the marketplace.

Hey all! Long time since my last post.

Just checking in to say that many of these rumors are pretty awesome in my book. Increased performance on the dock? Awesome. Gamecube VC? Awesome.

I was never too hung up on the price, but it seems like most people are trending down around 300 dollars now (though I did see a site that was expecting something more around $450).

I'm a big Holidays person - I LOVE this time of year - but I'm actually really anxious for the new year to get started so we get some more solid information and, eventually, the actual system!

~5 hours is fine especially if USB charging is ubiquitous. I can't imagine wanting to play that long away from some kind of power source. Whether that's a battery bank, PC, wall plug or just having it docked.

We got to see the first non-simulated real-world use of the switch on The Tonight Show. We got a clearer look at the controllers and yeah, they are definitely analog! BoTW was running beautifully, but of course it was in a relatively empty part of the map so it's not safe to say it won't suffer from the slowdown we saw on the Wii U version -yet-. I'm very hyped for this thing, I can't wait to learn more about it

@Operative Fallon just had the biggest geek out. And the change from TV is really instant. That's....my god.

I'd still be sceptical that 5-8 hours translates to real world gaming as anything meaningful. Nintendo are going to do whatever possible to ensure that they can say it has a strong battery life. So I suspect that 5-8 hours will only be the case when you're playing with no wifi, brightness down to the min and probably Super Mario Run or something else not very intensive. It'll still probably be more like 2-3 hours if we're talking about BotW, but that would still be fine by me. Can't see myself playing this for more than 2 hours on the go at any one time without having access to a place to charge it.
